Ok call me a fan boy if you want, I could call you whatever I want as well but I wont as I dont know you. Maybe you're just another fanboy after all...

So in other words you can provide no reasoning for your choosing CUSA hardware over any other x86 system then.

If you could come up with at least some reasoning for your choice other than the Amiga badge, then i would maybe not call you a fanboy.

Again why is this system better than any other x86 system running linux??
You can emulate games just fine on those as well and there is even amigaforever based distro.

There is just no logical reason to choose a inferior system that costs more just to run a linux distro.

Ok Tomas, for sure we could have a constructive debate, but starting the first post calling me a fanboy is not the right way to proceed with me. If from the previous posts you don't get what is the reasoning behind my opinion, I can't really help you and to be honest don't want with the way you approach me

Well one shouldn`t be offensive, but truth is CUSA uses common hardware one probably has. Now, download COS in few hours and let us know is it MacOSX of Amiga or something you could do with Ubuntu, AmiKit and/or AmigaForever.

May that be judge of your high hopes. It would be interesting to hear such review from AmigaOne user.

Please see some of my comments on previous page.

Huh, now I don`t have to download the COS and increase the number of downloads CUSA will be happy to speak of

Yes, for sure offense is just stupid. With you, no problem, different views but we can debate on something.
My answer will be simple, yes, a custom case (C64x, hopefully A500 case replica in future, I'm not interested at all in rebadged generic case of CUSA A1000/2000/3000)
and a very nice themed linux would be enough for me to make the difference with a standard PC. For me, that would make the little extra in personality that makes the difference. Nothing more, nothing less, and this only my view. You don't share it , no problem, but respect it

@Seblam

Sadly not even HTTC cased Amigas are out, even i7 boards ae clearly there (for C64x)

So A500 replica case, that you might wait fot long time my friend, its questionable did even the C64x paid off. Remember that they have started with COS and Amiga 1200 case announcements TWO YEARS AGO and Amiga cases are not even announced and COS is not even displayed anywhere (you are aware teaser is bad for something that should be new OS)

Please do that review for me.

With such realistic expextations they just can`t let you down.

Meawhile,

Amikit 4 Linux

Amiga skin for Ubuntu

Amiga theme for GNOME

Ami X Windows

Do it without CUSA!

Lol I think what CUSA is doing is a little more profesional and nice looking than your link.
But anyway, you're right let's try it and we will see if it's fun or not.

Its what existed before, and that might be a lot of effort done, since don`t believe they will try to make it look a like Workbench at all.

Its more likely it will be blue themed Ubuntu 11

Please download and compare. Since you love it so much.

Speaking of profesionalism, they kind of already spaced the date

Well this is all about Linux

Last one PPC only distro is YDL 6.2 fom June 2009
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Dog_Linux
Sadly, even they had beta SAM 440 port, Acube and Hyperion never managed to make a deal to have it working on SAMs / X1000
YDL 3 used to work on AmigaOnes

These exist PPC but don`t support AmigaOne / SAMs officialy
Ubuntu PPC 10 - 11 (so, theoreticaly COS could also be for PPC, but noo, that is obsolete arhitecture)
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads
Fedora 12 2009
http://mirrors.adnettelecom.ro/fedora/linux/releases/12/Fedora/ppc/iso/
Fedora16 Alpha 2011
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/ppc/2011-October/001444.html
Gentoo 2010
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/ppc/autobuilds/current-iso/

It seems SAMs and X1000 come with 2009 Debian 5.0 Lenny
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debian

It would a must to get one of these newer babbies running on SAM and X1000
and call it simply COS 2.x by adding AmigaForever support and C64 theme

There really should be a bounty to make some of this newer babies fully support AmigaOnes (SE,XE,X1000 ...), SAMs and Pegasos

Kernels are there and seen Fedora 9 running on SAM amongst Acube pics, there is also an X1000 kernel, AmigaOne kernel
http://penguinppc.org/otherh/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/amigaone-linux/
http://a-eon.com/news.html (7 march news)
(Acube kernels are at SAM 440 and 460 pages)
PPC Macs are already supported!

Big thing is that there are Open Office and Firefox working there!

Sorry I`m not that Linux experienced, but suppose someone could make some of these babies work out of box, with those kernels built in and downloaded installation, compiled and reburned to CD/DVD and then put to download.

A nice GUI to select Peg / AmigaOne model / SAM model/ MacPPC would be nice

Any Linux geeks out there?

They are proven pros,
this morning they allowed few screenshots in the trailer.

Looked like one of those "Use Ubuntu videos"
(such as) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC5uEe5OzNQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6uFxxlKa4g&feature=related

Just with some Amiga model pics, don`t know why.

And it has cybersex note:
"Remember when you loved your computer" ?

7 hours before Digitex seh:

Just heard from COS Mission Control, and all looks good for launch on schedule.....approx 8 hours until 11.11.11. @ 11:11:11 PM GMT, and it looks like we'll make it, maybe even with some time to spare. Quote from Leo: "...just a couple of hours to go now....everything seems to be going fine.....going through final testing phase now......looks sweet....then it will be up as a torrent.... " Last Edit: 7 hours, 30 minutes ago by digitex.

No thing pon forum, torrentz, CUSA webpage

Seems they spaced out a date. And there are few C64x users already asking for it!
1 000 You tube views for video embedded on front page of webpage (a webpage visit counter?)

Mass hysteria for new Ubuntu

http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_OS_Vision_Download.aspx

Now, become CUSA trolls or DIE!
Cause otherwize you use real AmigaOS!

Edit: Growing seeders, download ~200Kb/s on 6Mbit download (OK not only downloading that)
Please compare to latest Ubuntu to have a fair comparison.

Right, the thing is supposed to be out now.

Keep an eye on how many registered users are online and we'll know how many people are really interested. Note it has to be registered users as it'll be full of non-registered people just gone for a giggle!

In Central European time is 12-11, but nevermind
SinclairUK must do this too!

Also, provide Torrent download of PinkEye Beta 6 instead of HTTP / FTP
not to promote piracy!

And remember: Everyone is a beta tester!

Please report bugs by phone support

Barry did say GMT time... wonder why !!!

Is the Torrent download done via The Pirate Bay...

Don't think I'll be downloading it though, if it cant run on my REAL & GENUINE Commodore VIC 20's, C64's or Amigas then it's got nothing to do with anything genuinely Commodore...

Might just try the phone support though and see if they can help me fix my old tape version of Forbidden Forrest on me REAL C64 or answer some questions on my REAL Amiga's...

I have read the description and watched the "vision". There is nothing special there, a (Linux) distribution with preinstalled opensource software (I partly already use). What is special about it and why give it back the joy of the past? I do not understand it... And why does it justify higher prices?
