Hmmm.... I'd noticed the threads title had changed from 3 days to 2 days to 1 day...

Perhaps now it should be changed to, "Been There, Seen That, Done That, Bought The T'Shirt & It's Now Over & Done With"...

Think I'll switch to watching paint dry, more exciting.

Depends on the kitchen

Good luck,
Disk 2 is also avail

Please compare to Ubuntu

Known bugs

guess I should also mention some known issues. This is a beta after all.

There are some theme issues to resolve where there is dark text. We'll get to these via updates.

Some testers have notified me of translation errors which I have to think are relatively minor.
(like machine translation errors which are unavoidable)

There is a problem running the Software Manager if you change language. Synaptic still works though.
I believe the fix may be that you need to ensure you are using a system font that supports your language's special characters.
This was noted as a MintInstall problem, but I believe we do have the version which was supposed to have been fixed.

If you modify the sound theme through the Sound Theme manager you will uncouple from the updates to the sounds we intend to make.
Some of them need to be toned down, which we'll get to.

Sometimes Compiz/Emerald crashes on start up and the Window borders are no longer displayed.
There is a monitor icon in the top panel on the right that will correct that issue and refresh the desktop.
This is a known Compiz/Emerald issue we don't have much power over.

It happens rarely but there are intermittent theme lapses on boot up, where an incorrect theme is displayed.
This is a known Gnome problem. This will require a reboot to fix.
It's probably a race condition.

When you run some of the Wine games they will change the resolution but display transparently.
Exit and run the program again to fix and run full screen without transparency.
Don't forget Alt + Mouse changes transparency on any Window.
We hope to eliminate transparency from various selected apps altogether at some stage.
It's nice on most apps though.

The ability to resize the Ram Disk(currently set at 100Mb) is not functional at the moment, and will be provided by an update in the very near future.

C64x owners need to NOT INSTALL the Broadcom Wifi driver presented to install in the Proprietary Drivers dialog. We're probably going to black-list that driver.
The C64x driver is set automatically, and may even be available prior to the dialog. If you install it by mistake you can always uninstall it.
The proprietary drivers will be provided on the same disc some time in the future speeding up the install.

Before anyone asks, ROMs are not provided with this distro. They are licensed software which will be available on pre-installed systems and the install media we'll sell.

It's very interesting to watch all the Peers in the torrent.
It would seem the majority are from the USA, followed by Canada and then Australia.
As I write people are just reaching 50% of disc 1.

And with that I bid you goodnight. This has been a very very long day...
I hope you enjoy the OS.

Sad and bad in many forms.

Including that Commodore and Amiga became beta Linux distro - a push to make big free software collection even without Amiga ROMS (heck why then they have alliance with AmigaForever?) :(

But the hype and company are so big seems no one was able to leech it inna night,
so all the downpression towards Amiga community makes them at least equal in size, if not lower. Off course, they need it to grow and for their customers.

Now, we have new fake C64 that runs on Intel chip with fake CommodoreOS that emulates Amiga Who could see the world coming to that?

One must agree with old Burning Spear pon
Columbus Riddim

Maybe we would be better off without that expedition

I was actually watching the number of users on the forum last nght, to get a guide of how many people really look at the site.

It peaked at 233 users + 17 registered users that I saw, about 10 past 11, and then went straight back down to the normal amount plus a bit (normal is about 140-180, probably mostly bots given the consistency and lack of registered users) - probably because we all came back to AW.net to see what other people were saying.

They've been downloading now for 10 hours and nobody has reported anything yet, probably because of the obscene size of the download.

The whole 8GB download is ridiculous anyway - the only people with a fast enough connection to download it, are the very people who don't need the full ISO because they can download as and when necessary because they have fast connections!

No, but by obscene method of delivery - poorly seeden Torrent.
Normaly a well seed torrent of 3.77GB would be down by now.
Disc 2 is 3.36GB.

Nevermind, as I&I say: their sales and balles are not as big as they claim.

Neither software, neither hardware company, we`ll see the reviews
of their beta born child.

True, but since they spaced out the date, they have simply moved it to the
PM time (used only in US). In the end, it turned out to be beta6 and one DVD
(second DVD was put this morning) downloading via torrents with not so many seeders

Disc 1 is the Commodore OS Vision base install.
Disc 2 is the Commodore OS VIsion Extras.

Each ISO is available in a separate torrent.

Where are the screenshots?

I also wonder where all the fanboys are now.. No feedback from any of the so called CUSA users about how amazing this OS is..

Why to write any feedback here? So that you, vox and Daddy can write how
lame it is and how every single CUSA fan is a troll?

lol maybe those you called fanboys (you seem to really like this expression) have a life outside of Amiga. You know, it's weekend, some have wife, children, and testing an OS is not the priority of the weekend for lot of people even if they are fanboys... The OS was just released last night.
And anyway, which feedback you want, it's a proven fully usable OS (Ubuntu) with a nice looking retroskin.

And when you said there is no logic to spend so much money for that, is there more logic to spend 1000€ in a Sam system? By the way, which Amiga system are you using?

So this threads is only for fanboys eh?
In fact this thread in first place does not even belong here, as it has absolutely nothing to do with amiga at all. It has even less to do with amiga than the tablets, tvs that amiga inc sells on their web store.

And since when did i call anyone a troll in this thread? I called one guy fanboy because he somehow see a x86 system+linux distro as the continuation of amiga, when the only difference from a standard pc is that it is overpriced and comes with a amiga sticker.

Not that i think they have even released the so called amiga system, which makes this thread even more pointless.

I called one guy fanboy and that was you. Which was based on your post about why CUSA is your platform of choice. You have still not replied to any of my question on the reasoning behind this choice.

C= fanboys are crucified here on this portal, so it`s not a
post just for C= fans. I will not argue with you. I know what
do you think about C= and their fans.

I just say that this OS , even it`s a linux distro,
is a beginnig of something that will hoepfully soon grow into
something quite different. First step into a new era.

Currently , my biggest problem is a question, will it work on
G5 mac that I have in basement...

Eh?

I find quite funny when you say positive about CUSA your are automotically a CUSA fan and against OS4.
Quite funny when considering I'm OS4 user, future X1000 buyer and currently developing a game for OS4 that is not a unix port.

I don't get where you are getting fanboy out of this, sorry.
