@A500

Mech Engineer, worked in Rail and Automotive. Spent a lot of time involved in amending European legislation, ENs, etc.
Got bored, set up as a chimney sweep, repairing chimney stacks, installing appliances, etc.

Looking to square the circle at some point, so will probably set up a design/manufacturing firm creating wood-stoves/solid-fuel-appliances for domestic use when I get tired of sweeping ;o)

Can't stay in one place too long. Love learning new skills, just don't like the 'now do that 1 million times' aspect of work.

Had an A500 in 91, sold it in 93 to pay for the deposit on my first flat. Got back into Amiga in 03 when I was at Uni and discovered Ebay ;o)

@Franko, RobD - need a Chimney specialist (with a good understanding of Building Regs) on your team? ;o)

Also a Trek fan (as well as B5, and most other sci-fi). Since Voyager is considered to be the worst, I guess most people don't even recognise Enterprise as being part of the 'Star Trek' stable. Truly goddamn awful, "Way to kill the franchise, Bacula!"

I am currently a IT specialist working for IBM Italy as wintel and VMware platform technician.

I worked since the early 90s on several IT and gaming magazines, including the italian editions of Zzap! and The Games Machine. Magazines I worked for, or I am currently still working on include: PC Action (italy), CD Magazine, GigaByte, Computer Magazine, Il Mio Computer, Linux Pro and many others.

At the end of 2007 I started a hobby project called VmwAROS, lately renamed (and luckily best known as) Icaros Desktop.

Seems we've got enough folk here in all aspects to the building trade to start up a new construction company... "Amiga Homes - Retro Building Specialists"...

On the subject of Star Trek no-one beats Kirk and no neck Janeway was the wost captain ever, closely followed by Sisko...

I was (Building) Chief Engineer for 7 months at the NSN headquarters off Broken Sound in Boca Raton, FL.

Did you ever get to use the "Halo Rooms"?

That grating voice... disliked Janeway a lot, it was all getting a bit insipid by that point anyway... lots of emoting, meaningful looks, pastoral captains 'developing' their crews...

Kirk's method ruled: if you survive more than one away mission, consider yourself promoted.

Technical Director of Buyaparcel.com - like many of you, turned a hobby into a career... which isn't always a good idea, as a s**t day at work, you can't kick back and go enjoy your hobby as all you are reminded of is more poop the next day :)

Jayneway wasn't bad - certainly the prettiest - after Bill Shatner of course lol

In the free time I try from time to time to code something for my Sam ;)

Dont feel bad, I work as a Warehouse operator. or Backdoor guy, tipping and shipping lorries exciting....NOT!. Use to do a bit of freelance work as a Web designer, specialised in Flash, (which in hind sight not a good thing...bugger) So work in that area has dried up, sometime do a bit of fixing and building computers for people but not a lot of work now adays with the way the world is. Really hope i can get a more interesting job it the future.

@amigang

Funny, I also fix phones and computers in my spare time, and I've noticed an increase in the number of repairs I do in the past few years - I think it's because people aren't replacing their laptop as soon as it catches a virus or they have a hard drive crash, but actually want their machine to last a few years more... And the number of LCDs I've replaced in laptops, cameras, phones etc., that people wanna fix rather than replace...
