@dave

Please download debug version from the link below and tell me what debug messages you see printed into a shell window. Thanks.

@Dave

Okay, thank you.

Please download again from the above link, install and run.

When it crashes go to RAM:T/ and copy the text from the jack_debug file and paste it on here.

Problem identified.

Version 4.0.4 now on OS4Depot, don't forget to check the upload queue first.

@djrikki

I have tested the 4.04 and it does not work.

The error message is:
Cannot read beyond end of file! File: calendar.hws (current line: 373 - in function: ReadLine)

Excellent now open the dashboard and click on the Applications tab and tell me whether the previous error appears here instead or is now fixed.

Jack crashes for me. It says that it can't find an image called "fx_blur". I've installed all the needed dependencies and installed Jack to the DATA partition (just like the dependencies). I'm using an AmigaOne 500, base setup. How can I fix that?

@Vistaus

Can you confirm that you have AISS 4.12 installed as per requirements for it to run?

@djrikki

Yes, AISS 4.12 is installed to the same partition as Jack.

@klx300r

Hmm, is this just on program start-up? Please list steps taken.

Nothing standing out obvious this end.

If all else fails copy gui.xml into the location where you installed Jack.

@Vistaus

In TBIMages: there should be 4 files listed if you indeed have 4.12 installed.

fx_blur
fx_blur_g
fx_blur_h
fx_blur_s

If they are missing please reinstall AISS from:

http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/aiss/aiss.lha

Yup that error is at startup & only happened right after the latest update via AmiUpdate.

ok thanks....copying the gui.xml file over to the 'updated' dir solved the problem. After rebooting it asked me for the download/files directory then loaded up as before.

hmm on 2'nd thought isn't the point of AmiUpdate to do this for the end user automatically ?

@klx300r

Now I have Wifi working at home I can find some more time again to start developing Jack further. Yes, the point of AmiUpdate is to remove such manual 'fixes' - although things are never that easy right!

On a similar vein here is some small progress on JackTunes... which I have removed from Jack and instead developing into a separate application. For those who have never heard of it, it allows me to play my iTunes library either locally installed on my AmigaOS computer or remotely across a network.

Here shown is that the Search field is now working.
