Not all MorphOS users. Some are nice people, some not.

It was called Blue Red War. Nasty discussions on nearly all Amiga sites. Amiga community splited into pieces, hatred, accusations.

If you read through these old threads, you will see many MorphOS users wishing death of OS4 and of course many OS4 followers (OS4 was not there in years 2002-2004, MorphOS was introduced for Pegasos in 2002) claiming MorphOS has nothing common with Amiga and is only lame copy of AmigaOS.
Some people can´t leave such insane state of mind, so Blue-Red War never really ended.

Seriously. AmigaOS 4.x and MorphOS competing over what? The remaining 12 people interested in an NG Amiga solution? Or are we still fighting between camps trying to recruit their members?

I dont care is there 1 or 12. As long as I am developing MorphOS I dont want there is somebody spreading misleading information. Do whatever you do but play with the rules.

Btw didn't they announce recently X1K limited edition was sold out? Either Amiga is big business and you are wrong, or someone is... ? Bleh.

Yes, I agree they should have reviewed it better, but that is a completely different matter. Posting about that on this forum doesn't help much.

Public forum is where I would place my complaint.

@pavlor & TheDaddy

This thread is not about MorphOS and AmigaOS 4.x though. The OP, jorkany, isn't a MorphOS user, AFAIK.

I thought they did play with the rules, and that's part of this mess

Yes, don't speak with those in charge, let everyone else know first. Good tactics.

@pavlor

No need to apologize, I just wanted to be emphasize that this thread really has nothing to do with the MorphOS vs AmigaOS 4.x war from the past.

@TheDaddy

There's much from the past that is better buried there, sadly. I wish I could say it was all over but it is not

Still plenty of hatred and bitterness around, though it's better hidden these days.

Just remember it's only thanks to a MOS developer's kindness that you can run OWB on OS4 at all. It was a pretty nice thing for Fab to allow.

Public talk ensures they wont try it again.

But why I am getting this impression you wouldn't even want to know about it.

To be honest, I don't care much at all, but I do care when someone intentionally is trying to stir the pot around here.

About the site though, I find it interesting no one really cares about correct information or not. It's better used as a weapon on the forums. Disheartening for sure.

No OS developer has to accept this, I dont know if the term "warning letter" is an approbiate translation for the term "Abmahnung" but there are lawyers who did their living getting money from wrong advertasions or announcements. This could cost Hyperion some 1000 Euros if the side was written in their name.

i would tell you if i knew i wouldnt be banned.
Here is the short version...

People,religons,views,trolls are different, no such thing as a happy land, not even in the world of AmigaClones.
We should just learn to appriciate the homo sapiens, either that or stop giving them food.

As for the picture in question, the site was created before it was clear that the html*/flash stuff would not come to os4 due to Fab's source stuff that couldnt be shared, or maybe that is wrong too?.

Peace Out.

That's the problem, isn't it. We're rather suing each other than helping. You've got to love what the Amiga community have become.

Wrong! , Afxgroup did OWB long before that!, yes on AmigaOS4.
and yes that was at the time everyone (who not had OS4) was saying how crap OWB was and so on...

oh look....

I hope you do remember that unless OWB would've been first made available for AOS4 Fab would probably never even looked at it in the first place.

Until the OS4 version showed that it is a feasible port, the MOS version showed up and we all know the rest of the story.

I think he was referring to what is now known as muiowb which is a port of fab's work.

Well, if we start with this, Marcik did it way before with Sputnik, demonstrating WebKit could be ported (but at that time, WebKit wasn't so much portable yet). OWB was not much more than some SDL backend of WebKit, basically. One could have used WebKit directly without the need for OWB at all.

Well lets see the site has it listed as "Odyssey Web Browser" which is Fab's version of OWB. I'm pretty sure you're simply looking to argue.
