@DaveP

If you'd clicked on the word "beer" on my website, it takes you to stella-artois.com, which should be a clue Actually, I should probably change that to stellaartois.co.uk, since they've changed that to "Stella Artois USA"...

You would if it was a company making over the shoulder boulder holders...

good luck, by the way. not with the norkage (although a little luck is always good there*), but with the venture.

@DaveP

Any clues?

Let me guess - a buyout or transfer of ownership. The KMOS incident?

Any ideas when it will be complete as it is not in anyone's interest to keep Amiga Inc. looking like it is limbo?

As a long time Amigan I am aware that the Commodore transfer to Escom took a looong time - hopefully this will be much faster.

Naah, not DOA. More like MIA.

- edit -
Btw, if they postpone it for two more weeks, they could just cancel the March issue and it'd be right on time.

@Loki1

It will be 10 years this April since the death of CBM and with it the 'mainstream' Amiga.

Hopefully there will be some end to all this very soon and a lot of questions will be answered.

Good news around the corner etc etc.

The problem is, people have been saying this for nearly ten years. There is always some good news around the next corner; in the next couple of weeks; etc. There never is. Even if the news ever happens (which it rarely does within the specified timeframe), all it leads to is another long string of disappointments.

The fact there has always been some news expected within a month has kept me going for this long. Without the optimism and the hope I probably would have given up long ago. However, I refuse to believe there is any news, let alone good news coming within a reasonable time period.

I hope the OS4 pre-release will be here within a month, but I'm not sure I expect it to be. Unless this news - if it becomes news - affects OS4 or further development of Amiga hardware, OS and/or software, then it is quite frankly not worth bothering even classifying it as news.

There have been far too many occurances of people crying or hinting of good news around the corner, and I haven't seen any of it. All I have seen is Amiga technology being passed around different companies like sweets, plans made and then abandoned at the last minute and murmurs of new big deals which are either never announced or dropped like a stone.

For once, we have new hardware and it looks like a new version of AmigaOS is on the horizon and approaching steadily. I think there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. However, unless you actually have some news to share - and by news I mean news, not more court cases, promises, or anything else that is doomed to failure - I'm beginning to lose interest.

Maybe I'll cheer up when when I have OS4 in my hands, and know that nobody is going to swipe away from under my nose before I even get to see the install CD.

Good news doesn't necessarily lead to better news. Not in the Amiga market anyway.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I'm just getting slightly fed up of promises of good news and the news either not happening, or the initial wonderfulness of it all fizzling out like a dud firework before it even gets off the ground.

Chris

@Chris_Y

You miserable sod

Ive promised nothing, Ive already had good news, thats why Im already smiling. If you give what I say no credence, then that is your right.

In this world, there are opportunities, sometimes something is made good from them, sometimes it isn't.

When to worry is if you have your emotional stability and makeup riding on that thing, is it worth it?

I believe that you have had good news, and I believe that you wouldn't have mentioned it if you hadn't. My gripe was that this good news either doesn't make it any further, or if it does it turns out to be a disappointment. Anybody who couldn't be bothered to read my rant above will be pleased to know I've just summarised it in that last sentence.

Edited by Chris_Y due to sounding like a mentally unstable loon who shouldn't have been let out of his padded cell
I rant occasionally, it happens. Don't concern yourself over my state of health or mind.

I've cheered up now. Where's the good news then?

Chris

Yeah, I'll second that question, I heard that some announcement might have been forthcomming today (I can't say where I heard that though)

As for CAM, Hmm, Club, Amiga, MAYBE
