THX I tried long ago to use uboot shutdown function to create such tool, but didn't make it to work (not enough programming level). Just added a WAIT (secs) arg to your program before poweroff. Little snippet of my added code: .. readarg = IDOS->ReadArgs("SECS/N",(LONG *)&args,NULL); if(readarg!=NULL) sec=(*args.TimeWait)*1000; wait_ms(sec); ..
THX mate find it quit cool to poweroff my SAM from CLI/Shell |

One of the reasons people are so anti shutdown I think is that Windows abuses it, to not just switch off the computer but start installing updates etc etc, which can result in quite a delay, and many people don;t like to leave the machine alone whilst it switches off. |
Its a poor policy for mobile devices like laptops and tablets.
Some people wont to get home from the office before the sun goes down, it is possible that I need my laptop when I'm home, so leaving it at office is not going to work.Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 24-May-2013 at 03:10 AM. Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 24-May-2013 at 03:08 AM.

I am surprised, especially about the X1000 athough that's obviously something which is possible at least. _________________ Troll - n., A disenfranchised former potential customer who remains interested enough to stay informed and express critical opinions. opp., the vast majority who voted silently with their feet. |

So does somebody know for certain if Wake-On-LAN and/or Power-Off are supported hardware-wise on AmigaONE-XE and/or Sam440flex.
Where to find documentation about the AmigaOne-XE schematics? I asked google, but all I could find was the Manual.

The code to poweroff the SAM460 was on Uboot (from Acube website) sources. I was unable to "port" this code/function to an AOS4 program, but salas00 did the trick
So if from Uboot shell there exists a poweroff command for other AmigaOnes (XE, 440,..) maybe you can get the sources and be adapted like the one for SAM460.

I added SECONDS to salas00's SAM460off and included A1-X1000 poweroff code (it checks which machine to use own poweroff code) Did some tests/tries on my SAM460 and works fine. A1-X1000 untested.
Want to test it? Will send executable and source. And if everything is OK upload to os4depot ASAP.

Thanks for your reply I sent you an email. So there is no way to send a Wake-On-LAN signal?Last edited by Amigo1 on 25-May-2013 at 05:49 PM.

Don't know for sure, but i think WOL should be implemented (if not already) in uboot. |

me myself and I. Can someone point me (enlight) where to look (wbsite, code, sdk docs, dos_lib, XXX_resource,..) to add to poweroff SYNC feature (like in reboot cmd.)?
TIA
