I don't like Fractal's either, they're also too big... no monster cases in my house, please!
I wouldn't mind one of these, thou...

@Nibunnoichi
You can not have a computer that looks like a christmas tree in the house all year round.

@Hillbillylitre

The Hiper Media Chassis series were nice but sadly Hiper Group went out of business about six years ago and only partially working website remains.

They seem a little bit thin to put a big gaming graphics cards inside. It's nice to have the computer connected to a TV and the Amiga has always been ment to be connected to a TV too with its PAL/NTSC outputs...

On the PC I use now I have a ten meters long HDMI cable and using a wireless mini keyboard and it's much better than the crappy socalled Smart TV functions and game consoles.

@amigang

It does grab the eye, but I think I might tire of it in short order. The two off-axis boing balls don't look good; removing the smaller one would clean up the design.

Still, I prefer something like this. Replace the two floppies with an optical drive and you have it.

I'd have thought that you'd have liked this design with your love of the BBC's Red Dwarf series! Similar stylings me thinks

If I insert a Euro-coin, will a can of coke pop out at the bottom?

As long as it's not Amiga Cola. Never tried it myself but I heard that stuff tasted pretty awful.

@Rob

Most 'clear' plastic cases are only built for 'demonstration purpose' they are not suitable for standard PCs because they lack EMI (tr?) shielding.

But you can find them on EBay, Amazon or elsewhere:

It has nothing to do with the PPC CPU. It has everything to do with the motherboard manufacturer.

>PCs these days are infinitely more more economical and give off much less heat (as well as being orders of magnitude more powerful).

My Amiga desktop (SAM440) consumes 25W, my x86 desktop(s) consumes 60...110W depending on load. SAM440 is mini-ITX size while PC boards are micro-ATX or flex-ATX.
My PPC laptop is smaller than my x86 laptop, yet more capable (because MorphOS).
My smallest PPC computer motherboard is smaller than mini-ITX motherboard and runs at same Ghz as the low end PC in local shop.

Intel Atom series are as low power capable as PowerPC chips, but they also are similar level in performance, far behind intel desktop CPUs.

AMD Athlon 5350 has 25 watts which includes IGP.

My Samsung ATIV Book 7 is a 13 inch Ultrabook with 1920x1080 touch screen, Intel Core i5 3337U(17 watts, 1.8 Ghz base clock to 2.7 Ghz boost clock, 256bit AVX SIMD, Intel HD 4000 IGP) and AMD Radeon HD 8570M GPU (DirectX12/Vulkan).

AMD Athlon 5350 (quad core, 2.3 Ghz overclock) with Radeon HD R9-290 playing Doom 2016 Vulkan + 1920x1080p + ultra settings.

Well we have had the Walker concept case which looks like a toaster, why not a case that looks like a fridge?

Rob leaked these pictures to me. Ask Rob how official they are. The 1222 looks quite nice. The X5000 on the other hand seems like any other PC case.

I don't know if that will be the final case for the A1222. It's an expensive case even without the custom engraving, although that Tabor won't need the heatpipe cooler so that would shave a fair bit off the cost.

@PhantomInterrogative

They were on the A-EON/Amigakit table at last years Peterborough show so not exactly leaked but it does make them official. I don't know if they'll be the final designs used for full systems or not.
