@kolla
I'll try that 1st suggestion of yours. I'll have to read up on "raw". And before I bother Mr. Richter with questions I'll shall: investigate the settings and do a bit of internet searching.

Currently, I was pursuing ALL of those other suggestions, but until I tried various permutations I won't come begging here

I didn't understand about needing rdesktop on the Linux side... another puzzle piece in hand.

Thanks for your continued patience,
George

The laptop is portable to the many drs. appts I accompany my wife to. I get 1 to 2 hours in, depending, so the project will stay on the iBook (there are 120vac outlets at all the places we go).

It is (mostly) important to me that I be able to say that company files are NOT on my personal computer at home.

I don't so much hate the iBook keyboard as I do /**changing**/ keyboards. It (and age) are ruining my typing accuracy and speed. The X1000 keyboard has the same physical configuration as my keyboard at work and about the same keyspacing.

You can install Rdesktop on linux too, that's what i have done to my rpi2, it works great for what i'm using it for. It's handy because when the amiga crash i just reboot and click on my icon for rdesktop and i'm back just where i were when i crashed. This method is surely not suitable for everyone but it is for me.

You are the ***winner***. It works!

Specifically, I found Epsilon's (almost) perfect description of how to do it.

Please supply some info about a place you would like to see some money donated to.
I'll give some to it.

Thank you, thank you,
George Wyche
