Great. I'll try to remind people of the new stack entry.

Are you saying Daniel was not crazy BEFORE he took on ctorrent?

Best Wishes,

most probably you don't have the dvon on primary slave (a1ide.device:2)
Try with a1ide.device:1 if is on secondary master.

I'm sure that was just a typo, but to correct it for anyone else -

The units are:
0: Primary master
1: Primary Slave
2: Secondary master
3: Secondary slave

Hehe, well, I was a bit crazy before, but now I'm MAD!! No, seriously.. I have some problems getting cTorrent to work correctlry (I get Uchoked 3 times, then it stops) but I think I'll geet to it.

I don't think the stack needs to be very big. cTorrent doesn't (seem) to do any recursion (which would need a lot of stack), so aa stack of about 16k should be enough.

I'll get back to you when I get it to work properly.

@Deniil715

Your last post discussing stack for cTorrent. OK. But so we do not confuse talk
on two different apps here...

Just to be clear:Posts #57 & #60 & #61 we are talking about a new stack number
for MPlayer:5,000,000 according to Andrea.
Is it your understanding that 5,000,000 is current stack for MPlayer?

Best Wishes,

@all

Finally managed to get Mplayer running OK on my µA1-C thanks to an article by @Toaks in the latest issue of Total Amiga. (Thanks Toaks). It seems my µA1-C (which was set up when I received it) was not optimised for video playback. The way I had it set up utilised most of its meagre graphics memory. I somewhat naievly assumed that the chip memory listed in the Workbench title bar(~122MB) was the effective graphics memory I had available, which of course it can't be since the µA1 has only 32MB of video memory on board. What I actually had available was ~17MB of video memory!

By following the advice in @Toaks article I was able to free up more of the video memory (~25MB) and Mplayer worked OK. I noticed a couple of problems however. If I booted the µA1 up with a DVD in the drive, Mplayer would not play properly. If I did not shut MPlayer down properly after playing a DVD, it did not seem to release all the video memory and I had problems if I tried to replay a DVD.

Interesting to note, DVplayer seemed to perform fine with my standard set-up and did not seem to be effected by my original settings. On my A1-XE the actual video memory is 56MB with my standard configuration and MPlayer and DVplayer both work fine.
