So...

We are 2 weeks away from Christmass and I am asking the
megahyperultra-powerup guys from Hyperion: "Is everything
ready for the final OS4.0 release? Any specific date?".
It would be a cool thing to know it what is going on behind the
doors of Hyperion Entertaiment....

GUYS! WHEN IS THE OS4.0 FULL VERSION IN STORES?

all the best...

Dusko...

yeah... 'cause Dixons, Game, and Gamestation will stock loadsa copies

is a bit optimistic...

and when hardware available is more sensible... (making sure it works on that hardware...)

Still want it on PS3 though

@Helgis & the ones asking

We want a better answer than that...

You folks are not going to get it by asking it every day in a new thread.. (Almost everyday somebody is aksing about it....). Be happy you got OS4 Pre 3, think about al those who don't have an A1.. Or those with a CyberstormPPC who don't get to play with it..

Better answer?

Right...

But I don't think you're going to like it:

There is no available hardware to buy that runs Amiga OS 4.

Therefore no point in releasing it, as there is no way to buy it.

Well, you could buy it, but couldn't run it. so what's the point?

When will Hardware be out?

Dunno.

End.

I didn't think you'd like that reason.

Like when you were a kid on a long journey. "Dad, dad, dad, are we nearly there yet, are we nearly there yet, are we nearly there yet, dad.". you didn't actually get there any quicker.

@Seer

I know. At least i didn't write this topic, but the sign "When It's Done"
is simply not good enough anymore. That sign has been used for almost 6
years now. Another clear answer has to be given. Sorry, but that doesn't
work anymore....

The sign "When It's Done" is now useless in this case....

Time to give the REAL answer...

Almost forgot! What about Eyetech? I know for sure that Troika and
ACK will be able to provide hardwares to run OS4, but when is Eyetech
going to "get their head out of their arses" and actually start to use
it than standing still as a dead rock? Sorry for the hard words, but
it seems to me that is the only thing Eyetech will ever understand -
hard words...

@Helgis

I think it is done. Well, almost, it's certainly useable now as pre-release 3. I refer you to the answer I gave previously.

And I should add, that's just what I think is happening, I know nothing officially. Or unofficially for that matter.

That sign has been used for almost 6 years now

And if you've read the answer the Friedens gave... Besides, most OS4 users seem to think OS4Pre3 is good enough for them...

Time to give the REAL answer...

That's is the real answer. Do you want to piss off everybody working on OS4 ? By asking you won't get t sooner, and by the way you're responding, well why should Hyperion/Eyetech/Troika/ACK run harder ?

but when is Eyetech going to "get their head out of their arses"

Bzzzztt... Wrong response, try again. Really Heligs, you know the situation so why do you keep attacking the people who put more into the Amiga since Gateway (or maybe before Gateway) without knowing anything about their business... Just like how you attacked OS4Depot without thinking..

If you want things to get better start with yourself, seems like your slipping back to the point before your last vacantion.. again..

@Stephen_Robinson

You might be right, but waiting for God-knows-how-long will get us
nowhere and just leave us even further behind the technology line and
will just allow PC and Mac to further bypass us even more...

We can't let that happen. Also i think it would be extremely wise for
Hyperion to start porting OS4 to Cell now, as the prototype Cell-based
ATX motherboards will go into production after April 2006, according to
several sources...

It is depressingly ironic that the lack of hardware now appears to be the only thing preventing an iminent release.

@Helgis

Don't worry, Hyperion/Eyetech/Trioka/ACK know far better the risks involved and the investments/money/time needed to do that then you do...

Stop attacking the ones who got us this far in the first place.

@Seer

I am in the stage where i have a lot in my mind, like moving to another place,
that Christmas is a painful time for me. It was mentioned in another topic,
but i won't take it here..

I agree i could relax a bit more, but at least Troika and ACK are able to
do the job into providing hardwares for OS4, then how come that Eyetech
still isn't able to do that? And more we wait, yes easier it would be for
PC and Mac to bypass the Amiga even further in technology...

We surely can't let that happen, or what?

I am in the stage where i have a lot in my mind, like moving to another place, that Christmas is a painful time for me.

You're not alone. I hate Xmas... (Besides, I have again had a work week of more then 60 hours and have slept 6 in the past 48 hours so forgive me for not feeling all to sorry for you now)

agree i could relax a bit more, but at least Troika and ACK are able to do the job into providing hardwares for OS4, then how come that Eyetech still isn't able to do that?

Because Eyetech tried and failed ? Troika is were Eyetech was years ago, at the beginning of a new hardware project. Wheter Eyetech made bad decisions or just had bad luck doesn't matter. Perhaps the ones backing them are not so eager to help out at this point.

We don't know what Eyetech is or isn't doing. We don't know their financial situation. If they have no money to spend then no way they are going to get back into the game anytime soon.

Give them a break, they put a lot of money where most peoples mouths are.

@Seer

I have to admit that you're right that we don't know what Eyetech are doing...

I would love to see all these three companies working together in some cases
to finally give us not just one but several OS4-ready AmigaNG-hardwares...

I know you don't love XMas too. I remember some of the stories you told me.
Private stories of course. Won't mention them...

I'll try to restrain myself. Just feeling stretched. Sorry to let it flow
over here....

I'll try to get my mind on something else for the moment that will keep
me having fun
