This year we have not had WOASE. Neither have we been privvy to one of the OS 4 Road shows.

So whilst we wait for these things to come our way, I propose that we make our own excuse for a party:

The Great Amiga Meet up.
--------------------------------------

My suggetsion is this:

We get a room in a pub somewhere, or a hall - and see what happends. Anyone can come along . It'll be a chance to leave the flame wars behind. After all - we are a community

If it ends up becoming bigger with companies wanting to get involved thats also cool.

For a date, may I suggest somewhere around late November, early December. Hopefully in the new year we will have OS 4 - and therefore, with luck, a proper show will be arranged for this.

Proposed Venues: At the moment I dont have one - but as for a town I'd like to suggest Bath.

Bath is a nice town. Historic, pretty - cheap beer! I have also looked at it with the view of accesability. For public transport its pretty central - being close to an airport, with direct rail routes from most of the UK.

Its the West of England about an hour by rail from London and the midlands. - and about 45 mins by plane from Newcastle.

If you have any suggestions for venue, dates, times etc - please put them here. It would be very cool to get something arranged.

Cheers,

Rob.

It would also be good to get an idea of numbers , to ensure that where ever we end up has sufficient space to accomodate us - perhaps a poll could be taken on the front page?

Sounds like a great idea - but maybe somewhere a little more central than bath?!

The reason why I suggested Bath was because, whilst geographically its not that central - in terms of Road, Rail and air links it is. Its actually quite easy to get to - believe it or not it would be cheaper for someone to get to it from Scotland, than it would be for them to get to Birmingham.

Davey over in Ireland could fly from Belfast - the scots could fly from edinburgh, and the southerners can get a train.

However, if you have a place in mind - we can see how accesable they are.

Hi,

I think that Bath is an excellent location, I won`t have to drive all that far!!!

I think companies would need a little more notice than late November though. Especially since we don`t even know if we will actually do it or not.

Best Regards,

Frank.

Great idea Rob I think bath is a good place to meet up. Though there
should really be a welsh show, maybe in a few years.

Now if I could get OS4 beta and permission from Hyperion to demo it,
Id be more than happy to bring my A1 too.

Hi!

A couple of guys from SWAG (the usergroup i'm in) were already talking about organising an OS4 show in Bath University. We have an AmigaONE XE-G4 (mine), but the only CSPPC SWAG has access to is broken. We are already talking to Ben H about getting a copy of OS4.

All we need is a working CSPPC, and a fixed date, and we are ready to rock and roll.

(what a coincidence, eh? )

Cool - consoldate the meet ups in to one.

I've PM'd the dfude about the cyberstorm PPC. Am awaiting a reply.

Suggested date around the 13th Dec - but depends on CSPPC.

I think you have forgotten the Micromart meet on 30th November at the NEC.

Yes Amiga will be presented there.... Sven and his minions will be in attendance.

I'm also thinking of taking my A1 ..and Video camera.

The difference is that Micromart is a huge PC show at a huge venue, not ideal for demonstrating OS 4 to the UK userbase.

Micromart might be more glamourous, but xeron/bobson's event will be much more fun
