This is what Troika is referring to.

Wow, maturity at its best. I hope you are aware that the only part that ever used "two more weeks" was... ah nevermind.

I'm really tired of all those pessimistic people spreading their negativity and bashing everyone who tries to be a bit more positive. Yeah kick Troika for posting a positive comment, make sure that those who are hopeful lose all their hope.

Seriously now, whether there will be some new hardware from Troika or not, whining in forums all the time will not help matters. If you're tired of waiting, LEAVE NOW, find other things to keep you occupied, go and enjoy life :) You can always check back later if you happen to hear some good news. But don't try to bring down the mood of others who are still hopeful and positive because you're doing a lot of damage to the community. Believe me there are times when I'm really fed up with things (not talking about anything OS4-related in particular) but I don't go and ruin the day for other people because of it. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

And I'm afraid that all that will be left on aw.net in a few months is the neysayers that keep on complaining as soon as someone tries to .. Bah, whatever..

I've seen a lot of good ppl go quiet here lately. Sad it is.

What positive comment???. If i say that i have a new board capable of run os4 people would people be obligued to believe me?. As Frags said in his post, prove the veracity of that assumption.
What's those so-called good news?

The only thing they said is that it's spring now and good things are to come.
They did not even refer to the Amy'05, maybe they are talking about Santa Claus coming on Christmas Eve.

True but depending tiny market as Amiga for revenues is the same as shooting one self in the foot, companies that do sell hardware in this market depends on customers from different markets, Genesi for example tries support as many types of operating systems they can, Hyperion has for years ported games to Linux, Mac and Amiga.

It is also possible design a low volume at hi price if sales can be granted
(Amiga market is not so happy whit pre payments, maybe bounty system is better?)

Troika is getting blindly defended so much now, it is just pathetic. They claim to be making a product with zero proof, post on forums silly little hints and people go out of the way to defend them.

Is there any decent Amiga companies left?

I for one am just ignoring them, as long as they don't have any real product to sell to me...

Please don't count me in "thats the majority here" - I do not believe in them, as long as they have no real product to offer.
I only believe in people who deliver real products - not in those who are just producing hot air...

Their aggression is really ironic since (except for a very few cases) these individuals have no better access to information than anyone else. Their outrage is based upon the information they have culled from various websites and forums that we all read.

Hmmmm - if I compare your number of postings with mine, I seem to see why you came to this conclusion:

You're missing the long-term experience with AInc and the like...

No.
We simply have 13 years or so experience with things being promised/announced and never being delivered and so lost the faith in announcements anymore - especially, if they're not backed up with any sort of evidence...

Quote:

amygdala wrote:

And so they attack and judge nearly anyone who doesn't freak out and attack others the same way they do.

Anyway, Dirk-B is right. It's not blind faith at all.

No.
We're just stunned that there are still some that believe those who failed to deliver on their promises/annoncements during the last 13 or so years...

No - we've already been there.
Its more about lacking the experience of having been put of for 13 years or so...

Maybe you'd be similarily disenchanted after having been put of for 13 years or so.

Bit heavy. We'll always have the memories Clone-A is the best bet now. Not holding out for it tho! We'll see how it goes. Seems OS4.0 is dead, doubt even Hyperion would risk a release, even if they win the court case! Their cash reserves must be low, they'll have to port to the SAM 440EP, PS3, etc + WHAT MARKET ARE THEY AIMING FOR??

The companies involved obviously have now idea of striking while the iron is hot! OS4.0 needed to be delivered around 2000/1 to get any sort of inertia behind it.
