If the PV was ever a genuine product, it would have taken many months to design. A lot of time and effort would have been spent, not to mention a lot of money. Just to bring this PV project to the stage ACK claim it's currently at would have been a monumental task.

Adam would have to have at least some degree of intelligence to produce such a product. An idiot wouldn't stand a chance. Adam, seems to be an Amiga veteran, so he has seen _other_ vapourware flamed and chastised by the Amiga community before. He knew beforehand how untrusting and unforgiving the Amiga community is when it comes to vapourware. He would have been aware before announcing this phantom product that many passionate Amiga owners would be waiting to pounce at the slightest sign of weakness. The negative feedback, based entirely on his own actions, would be no surprise to anyone with an ounce of common sense.

This product was NEVER anything more than vapourware. Adam's excuse for "pulling out" of the PV project is not only stupid but unrealistic. Nobody would drop a project as "big" as this because of the comments of one or two doubters. If you were genuine and had invested so much in this project, you'd totally ignore all doubters and march ahead with things.

Sorry to say this but those who believed in the PV were just asking to be brought back down to earth with a huge *THUD* and that's exactly what's just happened. Maybe you will all not be so gullible in future.

Then again, what he probably meant was that he was leaving *the forums*, not the project, so most are taking it to the extreme... stillI think it's an over reaction because of one person alone with a known agenda (not the logic behind), but since I cannot possible know what he's feeling right now...

And I think it's too far fetched to involve Hyperion in such a conspiration theory...

To be completely honest no, I'm only talking from memory here and only pissing off some of youf . Still I allways got the impression Hyperion had allways had contact with ACK and there was even someone close to Adam (not related to Hyperion) that had seen the prototypes in his house. That was more than an year ago though.

A bit harsh, but absolutely correct. It´s Adams turn now, to prove all the disbelievers wrong. If he can´t, he should really leave the market and give other persons the chance to deliver believeable announcements AND real existing hardware (or without announcements as a surprise to the community).

Personal insult time again? I don´t feel hurt about not getting a PV (perhaps). I simply would like to find out what kind of people keep the Amiga spirit alive (even if they do it by perhaps doing vapor).

Cheers! It just goes to show what happens when enthusiasm and optimism changes to bitterness and anger. I guess we're a group with strong emotions, we just need to channel it in the right way! I personally have enjoyed theOS3.9/ WHDLoad years (2001 to current day). I've been able to play old games I couldn't afford the first time round via Ebay and the web, and I wrote my Uni Dissertation on the extremely useful AmigaWriter with RTF support! The Amiga is great and OS4.0 is bound to find its way out eventually
