Would you please not badnmouth Hyperion? Thanks a lot.

I guess I should've added a smiley. I meant that as a joke.

Quote:
the site is down simply because I need to take care of it (I did most of the webpage programming) and I am very busy at the moment with OS 4, so I have to prioritize and the web site didn't receive a high enough priority.

OK. Sorry, but I'm still pretty surprised there isn't even 15 minutes to put up an index file with a logo or something instead of that broken-site error message and nonfunctional contact information.

Quote:
it would take a lot of precognition to know when to take down the site...

Heh. I was kind of wondering about that but decided to float my conjecturing anyway. Rampant speculation aside, I do think it'd be real nice if everything turns out OK.

Man, dont argue with the guy, he says it's bust so just leave it at that. Let him get on with working on OS4, thats more important.

I should think it's obvious by now that the disappearance of

is due to some nuance of the Amiga Inc and Hyperion negotiations over OS4.

Lets hope it does not follow the example of this site.

Maybe not!

I just found it annoying that all the while this news was on the busy and cosmopolitan Free Pascal Compiler website the link pointed to a broken website;

The Free Pascal compiler (version 2.1.1) first compiled itself on AmigaOS 4.0 (PowerPC).

Bear in mind that people visit the FPC site from Windows, MAC and Linux/Unix platforms and this prominant news would have piqued many peoples curiosity for.....

It's an old news from the moment the site went up for the first time.

Click here to see what he is really up to with that link. Note how the comment on AW.net is much more neutral.

@ssolie

That's because here posters like him behave themselves out of fear of moderation. The bunny is where they behave like they normally would, because there's no reason not to. It's quite educational, to pop over there and see the difference in posting style of people there vs here - who's basically the same and who's completely different. I wonder if some of the regulars there have any friends, I have known a few people who are also constantly in an embittered, sarcastic rant mode and it's really difficult to have any kind of human relationship with them.

With the official OS4 site being down for two months, I'd say that's a pretty sketchy qualification!

Works if you specify port 8080 though, like

What does web design and programming have with web administration in common?

@takemehomegrandma: Not this site. He meant the official OS4 site

@cHaOs667

Isn't that the one in the initial post in this thread? Works if you specify 8080, at least you get somewhere other than an "Error 403 Access Denied" page ...

Or what is the official OS4 site?

lol... you guys are hard at work making up consipracy theories again!

Please, leave the nice fellows at Hyperion alone for a while. And at Amiga Inc of that matter.

Stuff takes time...

Maybe some volunteers could help run the OS4 site for Hyperion if they want, and try to update it with a bit of information every once in a while?

@all

I don't believe it is somehting they are too busy to fix, rather that it is part of a plan. Afterall, their main site is up and all they have to do is have the web server repoint to the web files or copy the web files to another server if they have mroe than one. The OS4 page does nto consist of many files!

I have learned something about branding. When you are working on a hot project: something that is coming out soon, you play it up and market it. Leaving a site down for weeks on end is odd to say the least whent he level of effort is literally 5 to 15 minutes.

I would not be surprised if there is some sort of mutual page being developed that may come out this weekend or soon after. Amiga Inc also claims to be redoing their site and these two organisations do eed to work together on the same message.

My two cents
