Wow. What a load of memories that site brought back. It's been so long since I touched the technical side of computers that I forgot I used to code. Also I forgot how much Dpaint played a role in my life.

Ahh, ye olde computer club where you'd show off your latest game. Do they still do that nowadays or does it take longer than a week to make em now?

Ahh memories... Damn, now that computers are mainstream we've lost so much geek culture... Long live the geek!

Growing up in Dundee just a few years behind these guys, they were like heros to me. Wish I'd been a few years older. Its games like lemmings and people like Dave Jones that made me want to be a programmer. In hindsight I wish I'd gone to Abertay Uni instead of Dundee Uni. Some of my friends started there the year they introduced the first games development course, I started the rather boring Applied Computing course at Dundee Uni instead :(

Foudn this after reading the lemmings story.

www.elizium.nu/scripts/lemmings/

IE6 plays it with sound, Firefox did not. Requires Java

That's a nice read. I like things like that where you get nice soft facts. Little background stories you wouldn't normally read about. Thanks for pointing that out.

Same here, no sound on FF. But it doesn't require Java, it requires Javascript and that doesn't have much to do with Java :).

Not quite lemmings, but a pretty fun flash game in a similar vein as lemmings is scribble.
