Mediator kernel fix - testers wanted

I am looking for two testers for the kernel fix that have

- A mediator LT and a serial cable for Null modem connection, plus a means to capture that output

- A "normal" Mediator user that has the graphics corruption, plus the same null modem cable to capture serial debug output.

Unfortunately, my own A1200 seems to have a broken keyboard interface, and all the other testers I have either have their machines disassembled, no serial cable, or no Mediator LT.

If you're interested (and I must want that it is most likely to not work at first) write me a mail (EMail link at the bottom of the message).

Thanks

@ID4

Do you have a copy of AmigaOS 4? I should have mentioned that this is a prerequisite too

No NullModem here, unfortunately.

Hi@NutsAboutAmiga
I think this is a lot easier:

@Rogue

Hello,

Maybe the best is to buy, for you, a new keyboard interface ??? I think found the good tester with all the hardware required will be hard. In another hand, I don t understand the: graphic corruption (with AOS4.0 ????).

For you mean: buying myself, as a gift, an elbox keyboard interface (40 euros+postage) and send it to you (or elbox send directly to you) if that could help you and amigaOS 4.0 but I hope Its not for using just 5 minuts

bye

@Mrodfr

I certainly would support this option and would be willing to amke a donation as I'm one users with a Mediator Lt who would benefit from this work. I'd rather this be left in the hands of the developers and would be pleased to test any new kernels.

Once you get into the realms of null modem cables and serial outputs that's beyond me.

@Mrodfr

Thanks for the offer, but it would be rather wasted money, because I don't use the A1200 very often (for classic stuff I have the A4000).

Besides, this 1200 always makes trouble. It sits in one of these plastic Infinitiv tower cases that always bulges when you try to insert a card into the Mediator.

I'll get this solved otherwise

Those Infinitiv towers are more trouble than they are worth however I might be able to come to come to your rescue as I have one lying unused - I think you can remove the keyboard interface in which case I'll strip it from the case and send it on to you.

Send me an e mail if you want to pusue this option. Obviously I cannot guarantee even if I remove the interface it works but at least it's worth a shot.

Yes, I understand you prefer founding a tester than open A1200 not really often used and put another keyboard interface on the ugly micronik plastic1 tower.

Have personally lots of problems/crash on the micronik1 tower years ago but now my amiga work at best on a DBOX tower.

also, the elbox interface isn t the same as the micronik one (but think that could be put on a micronik1 tower).

As you have seen on the answers, more easy to found a keyboard interface than a tester with all the required compoments.

Maybe I could post your request on the elbox mediator ML ????

PS: I like to see the amiga community spirit on the answers.

@Mrodfr

I am going to get another case for the 1200 soon... hopefully one where I can attach a *real* Amiga keyboard, too, that seems to be impossible with this as well.

And I found a tester with serial cable... so.. thanks to all

OK. As you have found a solution, It's good for all. Thanks for all you have made for the amiga (no PPC here, snif).

EDIT: message number 100 (little player, I know).
