OK, STRAP.MOD is we guess what should display the Amiga Insert Disk (Kickstart Version 52.3) image animation.
On the 1.4Ghz Machine with 256MB RAM, 1) ATI Radeon is detected fine. 2) Kernel loads and executes KMODs 3) The only Kernel crashes are for NO P96 Boot Menu Options 4) Licensed Amiga OS4 Classic Latest KMOD's don't make a difference
Questions: 1) How To get to the Amiga Early Startup Control Screen? From there perhaps some boot options could be changed. 2) Any other tips from the AmigaMac MacAmiga or MiniMac Youtube Video Person/s?

PowerPC G4 Microprocessor - This is from a 1.2Ghz Machine or 1.4Ghz not sure. Information about the PowerPC G4 microprocessor is available on theWorld Wide Web at http://e-www.motorola.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=MPC7457&nodeId=018rH3bTdG8653 Apple Technical
The Picture from the G5 Machine Shows.. Freescale MPC 7447A V1.2 1499Mhz
Other Upgrade Info http://www.macupgrades.co.uk/store/machine.php?name=mac-mini
---Video--- The display subsystem consists of a graphics controller IC and 32 MB of DDR on the main logic board. The graphics controller IC is an ATI Radeon 9200. It contains 2D and 3D acceleration engines, front-end and back-end scalers, a CRT controller, and an AGP bus interface with bus master capability.
The interface between the graphics IC and the rest of the system is a 4x AGP (accelerated graphics port) bus on the Intrepid IC. To give the graphics IC fast access to system memory, the AGP bus has separate address and data lines and supports deeply pipelined read and write operations. The AGP bus has 32 data lines and a clock speed of 66 MHz.
The graphics IC uses a graphics address remapping table (GART) to translate AGP logical addresses into physical addresses. The graphics driver software can allocate memory in both the dedicated SDRAM and the main memory.
---Interesting Point--- "The graphics driver software can allocate memory in both the dedicated SDRAM and the main memory." So how can this be done in Amiga OS 4 Mac Mini Loader????????????? Last edited by meet.mrnrg on 06-Jan-2008 at 05:11 PM.

| @meet.mrnrg It's just a shared memory card, basically...cheap.
IIRC, there was mention that Moana only worked on the systems with 64MB video, but I may be mis-remembering.

| At the black screen or before your ment to hold down both mouse buttons
Also there was info at moobunny about getting the kernal running on different Mac but i cant find it I dont know how you navigate that site
Its only reached the Kernal screen on a Late 2005 silent upgrade Mac with 64VRam - but that may wrong because not enough info?
This link suggests its running but you need A1 version? http://moobunny.dreamhosters.com/cgi/mbmessage.pl/amiga/153354.shtml
This info probably no help but keep trying

If there is such a things as 64MB VRAM its not common to G4 1.3Ghz machines either. If the exist it will be on any machine built in 2005 or 2006. _________________ Quote:

Not sure about the 1.3Ghz but the 1.5Ghz does have the 64VRam starnge because the loader is said to work on both the 1.3Ghz and 1.5Ghz maybe its more to do with the FirmWare? this link about MacMinis was posted on Amiga.org http://www.lowendmac.com/mini/late2005.html
You have the 1.42Ghz Maybe There a way to fool it into thinking its 1.5Ghz this link has info about Spoofing a Mac but not a Mini.

I can confirm that a 1.5Ghz Mac Mini with Moana ISO can in fact get you to the Amiga Kick start Insert Disk Screen.
Also holding both mouse keys just seconds before the Insert Disk Image shows will get you into Early Boot Up options.
After that its brain dead for me, until someone can figure out what to do. _________________ Quote:

| Guys, let's just do a reality check here.
I don't know about the MorphoOS "port", but it sounds as though the OS4 "port" is nothing more than running a basic bootstrap loader. You can get the OS4 Kickstart modules loaded into memory, but there is a lot of work to do to get from there to a running system.
1. A set of hardware drivers has to be written for the Ethernet, USB, IDE and other hardware on the board. Nothing will work (and will probably crash) with the OS4 drivers written for the AmigaOne hardware. 2. The kernel has to be modified so that it will run with the different Northbridge and/or Southbridge. Since it has been written for the Articia and the VIA 686B, it won't run on anything else.
Knowing the OS4 developers and AV (Andrea Valinotto), I am confident that neither of those tasks has even been attempted. Until they are safe from any legal challenges, I can't see anyone even starting the job.
In short, don't waste your time trying to "get it to work" on a machine other than an AmigaOne. It won't run and several key people have to do a lot of work to make it run.

No idea what stage the pirated version is, but the court docs have an IRC log in which Bill McEwen was shown a screenshot of Workbench running on a Mac Mini. So they did get it booting fully. Of course the project was shelved because of the legal situation so people shouldn't expect it to be too advanced.

| @tonyw See prior shared PM from AV. According to him, it will boot, thus drivers are complete nough to bring it up, when the ISO is built properly.
However, he also noted it's not stable, so this is essentially an alpha quality or less regarding stability, and of course, not supported...so, pretty useless except for giggles.
The legal issues are something else altogether, and who knows if we'll ever see the end of those in a way that goes _forward_ or allows this to be further developed?
I wouldn't be running out to buy a mini for _either_ OS4 or MOS any time soon, either way.

Look again --- unless filenames such as "macminiide.device.kmod" and "nvram_OF.resource.kmod" were just chosen to confuse people... Which still wouldn't explain the strings "MacIO2PCI" in dbdma.library (incidentally with a version tag *after* the start of the "legal challenge").

| @Everyone Next part of the problem is this: 1) How to properly eject cd-rom once the insert disk image shows up or 2) How to use the USB key as the boot-loader and keep the CD-ROM free for licensed Amiga OS 4 CD for the install.
As for MorphOS 2 on Mac Mini or AROS where can I get these ISOs / install files? _________________ Quote:

From the early startup menu select boot with no statup-sequence and type the following
CDROM:unlock_eject macminiide.device 1
Assuming that the CD drive is configured as primary slave, if not try a different number. Last edited by Rob on 19-Jan-2008 at 03:45 AM.

Sorry, I hadn't paid enough attention. Seems someone (or some people) has/have done some work on drivers already.

When selecting Boot-With-No-Startup-Sequence it just Freezes completely. ???
On other news using UBoot 1.2.0 on SAM440PPC I got through the initial Amiga BootA options and the the OS 4 ISO starts to boot. But it then gets stuck in a loop with lots of errors from the kernel. So based on another persons post they said a new Kernel Compiled for the SAM440 EP CPU and It's internals is required.

Yes Amiga OS4 Final for Amiga One will actually start to load on SAM 440 PPC.
It requires some setenv commands with different "values" to that in the Install How To PDF on Amiga OS4 Depot. These are SAM 440EP specific.
Other than that 1) It starts. 2) Loads the Kickstart Layout. 3) Starts Loading KMOD's 4) The it gets an Illegal Instruction Error - followed by Call Back Trace Program Check Exception Loops and Loops with lots of values repeated. _________________ Quote:
