@bitman

Soon, very soon.

It needs a few minor adjustments.

I'll be away for a bit playing with the case...

Later.

This will be the first bespoke/original Amiga related case probably since Commodore.

The Walker and MCC cases were completed and (to drum up interest) were available to see in Amiga Mags in the 90's. I'm loosing patience + invested in more classic Amiga kit so I think you've missed the window as far as I'm concerned.

Again, I repeat selling products on hot air and expectation might work for ACK Software Controls but it doesn't wash with me! Post a picture or give up is my advice

>>The Walker and MCC cases were completed and (to drum up interest) were available to see in Amiga Mags in the 90's.

I am not sure, I thought the MC Hammer was a mock up (just sculpted and painted polystyrene) can anyone confirm?

>>I'm loosing patience + invested in more classic Amiga kit so I think you've missed the window as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry to hear that, but developing a new product takes time, in my case 6 months, also remember I am not a big company, not even a small company I am just one man with a very small budget, all my own money. I could have made it fast but with what money? Raising money takes time. Be patient the prototype is here, on my desk right now but it needs a few things sorting out. I am visiting (another journey) the engineer tomorrow to adjust two things I am not happy with.

>>Again, I repeat selling products on hot air and expectation might work for ACK Software Controls but it doesn't wash with me! Post a picture or give up is my advice

I can't post a picture of an unfinished product I hope you understand this, the updates are for people who are interested. If I don't update people email me asking at what stage the case is, it's not hot air, it's not vapour, it's real, it's a nice little enclosure for all the Minimig owners.

Don't expect the moon, I am not Antec, Coolermaster or Lian-Li...

Next week there will be some photos of the prototype for everyone to enjoy.

Why not - we see prototypes all the time (Natami, car prototypes etc.) this way manufacturers keep people interested in the product.

With the "2 more weeks" strategy you risk people finding other casing solutions - but if people could see what's it all about they might wait for your product.

You're probably 100% designer and sure you won't show an unfinished product - but besides being a good designer you should also act as "the sales guy"

That is not my intention, I don't have any "two weeks strategy", I am just keeping people informed, I thought people like that instead of me saying it would be ready...one day.

I am everything at the moment, designer, tester, business manager, I am so tired!

LOL!

There was also the Micronik Infinitive case and the Silent PAWS cases which were available to buy.

I look forward to seeing pics of your case soon.

Thanks!

Tomorrow I have a meeting with the engineers, I need them to solve two things I am not happy with, then another meeting with the business manager about production costs and more pictures, hopefully the final ones!

@TheDaddy

The pictures so far looks very promising.

Despite the fact, that the price is not known yet -- I hope I'm on your list when it's time to sell the lil' thingy

>>thanks for your good and hard work!

Pleasure!
I am doing all this in my spare time, usually at night when I come back from work and the family is asleep.

>>The pictures so far looks very promising.

It should look good, the second picture should give you a hint on the quality of the plastic used, not too far away from what Apple use, I am not going into details, boring stuff...

>>Despite the fact, that the price is not known yet -- I hope I'm on your list when it's time to sell the lil' thingy

I am away all afternoon, got the meeting with the manufacturer to discuss price, and two alterations to the design.

Yes, I have got you on my list, the minimum order I must put through is for 50 pieces, so, hopefully, more people will join you once I have published the final pictures.

Later

Yes please do.

Can anyone who frequents other websites (amigans.net, the italian (ikir? )/spanish/portuguese/greek etc..etc..) ones do the same please?

I haven't got enough time to register with everyone.

Many thanks!

Loriano

@everyone

Quick update on the Minimig case (for those who are interested):

Prototype number 2 is entering the CAD stages. So it's basically ready to go into production.

I have only got a tiny little problem:

I have been told that the case might need to be tested (mechanical and fire tests) by a lab.

I am trying to find out if it's necessary for a case this small and only powered by a +5V (100-200mA).

The lab is going to let me know, mechanical tests are in the region of £650 (780 Euros)!

I haven't been told about price for the fire tests.

This is a bit of a blow to my project but I'll keep you informed.

@TheDaddy

Otherwise - just sell the case as a minimig-pencil-case - if people then decides to put a minimig into the case - it's their problem - you sold it as a case for pencils
