The website Obligement has published the first full review of MorphOS 2.0 : http://obligement.free.fr/articles/morphos2.php

It's in French but easy to understand with many screenshots.

You can translate it with Babelfish/Google but it's not really good. If you want to translate it manually and publish it on your website, you're welcome.

Seems fair to me, it is good, but it's not quite there, I'm having trouble with my USB Memory sticky thingy, Can't seem to work out how to play audio CDs, maybe that last one is me!

Like do you really need 3 types of 'settings'? Ambient, System and MUI? and they all have different interfaces.

Also a lot of the commands in the c drive have no help files, I'd love to know how this mysterious ikill works, or maybe there are help files, but I couldn't find em..

Could have done with a couple more programs added to the Contributions folder, Mplayer, MorphVNC, Lucy/that 3d cube thingy or even better a form of screen draging that actually works(!)

but again that's proably just me.

So not unlike OS4,it's a very good amiga (yes, amiga, not amiga like, but notice the small a!) OS, but it could do with a little update to tidy things up.

And to put my cards on the table is it better than OS4?

'bout the same really. I think I prefer the less MUIish OS4, but that's a personal thing.

I think they both have the same degree of usablity/niceness.

And both need a decent web Browser. And memory protection... So I don't have to reboot to restart a program..

Fine review. Got big problems undestanding babelfish'es translation, but figured most of stuff.

Can you add descriptions for more programs? Like Sputnik in more details, playing DVD (not divx or other video format, only DVD) and CPU usage during it, MP3 playing... General feel, does it respond fast when system is overloaded etc...?

@Stephen_Robinson

About USB, this release indeed has a few issues that will hopefully be fixed to reach previous compatibility level. :)

About CDDA, it's indeed just you i'd say. You can either just open a cdda and play the tracks appearing as wav files, or use any dedicated cdda player (there are many of them on aminet).

And ikill works the same way as xkill under x11: you run it, and then you select an application window. The task associated to the window will be put to sleep, and windows/ports/... associated to the application will be disposed.
