@meet.mrnrg

Great news for Pegasos owners

CONGRATULATIONS!

Now, I would like to see MorphOS layer for Amiga OS
and so much of the evil wars. As well as optomized AROS
for AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS

Amiga finally goes PowerPC 2009

Efika is likely to be next.

And lucky Pegasos owners got to use Altivec, G4 CPU and AGP 4x slot.
Now they only need better Radeon AGP drivers.

Just to remind you lucky guys,
normal AGP Radeon might be 9800Pro
http://computershopper.com/best-prices/product/30791128/graphics-cards/ATI-Radeon-9800-Pro-(128MB,-AGP)/availability

Nicer one and availiable might be Radeonn X1650 Pro
http://ati.amd.com/products/RadeonX1650/radeonX1650proagp/index.html

and best alive is Tadeom 3850 AGP
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ati-agp-3850-agp,1939.html

Hiowever, SAM still has SATA and DDR RAM on his side,
as well as M9 that should outperform Radeons up to 9600
and Pegasos is no longer availiable.

So it does not change reality much,
but brings joy to my heart.

Thanks, Belgium guys. You and Italy might save the Friendly Girl OS

As I said before, Pegasos II doesn't have real AGP, and on the other hand, you need a video card which supports operation in a 3.3v AGP slot. Most recent AGP cards doesn't support it.

Now that AmigaOS4.1 support OpenFirmware, Efika can be next on the list.

Not very likely. The SAM440 fills the low-end market, what we need is more high-end hardware.

Shame. No one with at least decent AGP (A1 had AGP 2x, right?),
what are the best ones availiable?

I have a 9800 here, it usually works.

Those are 0.8 volt cards, they don't work, neither in the Pegasos nor in the AmigaOne. The voltage levels are incompatible. Which is unfortunate, since the X1650 pro is an excellent card.

@Rogue

I've got a Peg II with a Radeon 9250 is that a suitable Graphics card?

it says 250 meg when it boots up, but only 128MBytes in the Morphos Program graphicsboards, would AO4.1 give me the full 512?

Anyway, it'll be better than the 32 on the µA1 anyway!

9250 is supported on OS 4.1, so it should be fine.

@HammerD

I did think so, but just double checking... Soon as I get paid I'll be buying.

Now the question is, does everything sound.usb 2 ports etc work? and do I sell my µA1?

Everything works, except Gigabit ethernet (use the 100Mbit port), but I am not sure about high-speed USB 2. But yes, you would be safe to sell your microA1. OS 4.1 is a good deal faster on the Peg-2. (with G4).

Great to see more expand, just to fill the gap till sam boards be on sale in bigger numbers.

Is Pegasos still in production?

Stephen_Robinson:
The USB on the Pegasos is 1.1 only. And I doubt
the Firewire-port is supported. The Gigabit-port
isn't supported either.

MorphOS just got support for it, 6 years late,
and still no Gigabit-support. :)

@TheDaddy

Just emailed Amigakit to cancel my SAM 667 order and change it to OS 4.1 for Peg2.

@ironfist

You don't really need it. In fact in any Amiga OS I've used I can't even saturate full 100Mbit/sec. with the existing TCP/IP stacks.

Can't Genesi turn off the advertising machine for a split second! This is not your time. Now go post your own news item or just sit quietly in the corner already. Sheesh.

You don't like Genesi, we get it already. Sheesh. Your barking of orders is comical.

I assume G3 and G4 Peg 2 machines are supported?
