@Rob

Is that on Acube's site?

Good news if produced soon and reasonably priced.

@BigC
I found it here, where the picture was hosted:
http://www.sam440.com/eng/sam440ep-flex.html

Looks cool if wierd. I guess they are waiting to finalise the expansion board before sorting the Sam's missing backplate (since they will want it to be compatible with & without the expansion board).

This will hopefully fix the Sam440's VGA output problems - and maybe it's reversed stereo output too?

@Rob
Crap, I can't use their I/O expansion board, because it covers (and uses) J19 A&B, which I use to supply USB to my internal card reader.

edit: I guess a pass-through for J19 A&B is too much to hope for

@Rob

Ahem. Is this card supposed to make your internal connectors external? So why to pay extra?

@ikir

Buy the first batch. On the second one, some connectors will surely be removed.

@Mrodfr

I think it will be universal with all kind of revision of Sam.

I don't think Acube has projected it only for one batch of their Sams

Do we have to pay extra for this?

@everyone

Apparently that is a prototype.

From what I can see, the orange connectors will touch a PCI card parallel to the SAM (via pci riser card).

I really hope that all the covered connectors will still be accessible on the expansion.

@Rob

Then this must be a real Amiga after all: it even has got some kind of a successor to the clockport!

Anyway, I like it that this relativly simple expansion is possible with a SAM.

Weldone, ACube!

That is very good news indeed! I really hope that gets rid of the noise issues on audio output as well as the reverse channel issue.

@Tomas

Why to pay for something, which would be there together with SAM440ep IMHO.

@Phantom
The *backplate* should be free, as that should have come with the Sam440 in the first place.

However, I don't see why an I/O *expansion* board should be free, since it (by definition) expands what the Sam440 can do (and which they did not advertise it as doing in the first place). Although for people with the VGA issue, perhaps they should provide it free, *if* it fixes that problem...
