| Hello.
I want to burn some CD32 iso files to CDs,but I discovered that since I installed my Sil680 IDE card since one year aproximately, now my loved MakeCD doesn't recognize the drives.OK it shows them as "sii0680ide.device,1" or any number between 0 of my HD and 1,2 and 3 of my other DVD drives. The really great problem comes when I realize that the drives I had selected doesn't have any driver at all probably named a scsi driver even if it is IDE.
Can I do some something to use my DVD-ROM and DVD RAM drives on my Sii680 with MakeCD?
I have registered MakeCD for a free use but I am a bit dissapointed to see it cannot use my drives. Last edited by newlight on 24-Feb-2010 at 07:33 PM.

The CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI driver should work for all modern drives. Just select it manually.
MakeCD is very careful with its automatic selections. It does not take any risk. If it does not know a drive it does not select a driver.

Thanks but the CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI driver is not listed on the settings of the drives.Neither any driver appears on the list.
Maybe am I missing something on the MakeCD installation?
My version is 3.2c registered with the free key.

I'm not in front of my miggy but I agree with thomas, it should be listed and would most likely work (it does on my A1 and did on my a4k).
Also isn't 3.2d available for download? |

I have the GUI set to Novice and if I click menu->Settings->Settings... I get to the settings window obviously.
From here I can select the popdown button for the "Reading driver:" for example and I get to a window listing the devices and I see sii0680.device in the left lister.
Now I can click the "Driver:" popdown button and I get a new window with a number of drivers. Here CDR_CSCI3_ATAPI is listed and I can select it.
Now I can do the same for the "Writing drive:".
If this doesn't work for you then make sure you have this ATAPI driver on disk in "MakeCD/Modules/SCSIDrivers/CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI.driver".
Works for me :) but MakeCD cannot burn DVDs though... _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

I have all set as you say,but still no idea what's happening.I remember a few months ago selecting my CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI.driver from the settings menu.
And I have all the drivers in its places.
Any ideas?
If I can't do it with MakeCD maybe I can burn ISO files+WAV files with Frying Pan?
Anyway thanks for your support. _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

| @newlight Finally I solved the problem of MakeCD3.2c of the drives selection with MakeCD3.2d that solves it.
I have a question: Some CD32 games they have an ISO file and then 9 WAV file tracks for example. As am not sure how can I burn a CD32 game of ten tracks with MakeCD? For example Alfred Chicken CD32.
I suppose I have to burn the ISO image and the other WAV tracks must be converted to CDDA to make the CD32 game play it music on the game.
Does MakeCD the conversion automatically or what I have to do to burn 10 tracks of wich 1 is a ISO image and 9 some WAV tracks?
And about Playstation games yesterday I burned a game to a CD-RW.I converted the Playstation game bin file to iso with the great Iso-o-matic of Spot. Then I burned with the option "Apend Image file" of MakeCD perfectly. When I tried the game with FPSE with the option cdrom and unit 3 for my DVD-ROM drive,I started the emulation and after the Sony logo it sayed "Insert Playstation CDROM".
How can I make a PSX CD-Rom of a .bin file without using the option CD-Image on FPSE and make it playable with FPSE?
The idea is to make a real Playstation CD-Rom with MakeCD that can be ran on FPSE being playable too. Last edited by newlight on 24-Feb-2010 at 05:04 PM. Last edited by newlight on 24-Feb-2010 at 05:02 PM.

I don't think we want to talk about copying Playstation games. It suggests piracy and we don't want to be involved with that.
