Who would want to buy a new Amiga4000T like hardware with PCI Express, fastest PPC or better CPU (x86?) one improved Zorro3 slot for bacwards compatibility, PCI slots, DDR2 or 3 Ram slots, etc,and "maybe" combined with a project like natami to be 100% Amiga compatible. With a price between 1000$ - 2000$

@Ancalimon

I would pay that much for a Natami, no problemo.

sounds good, but would'nt it save time to say who wouldnt buy a G5 Amiga?

although I do wonder if a custom AMD/ATI board with all the right slots would be welcomed....

hey its not intel, thats a plus!

@Ancalimon

My version:
- passive PCI express board with ATX mounting (two/three 16x slots, some other pcie slots + three legacy PCI slots (200¤)
- legacy ports (serial, atarijoysticks, etc.. soldered (or headers) on the busboard (+200¤) or as a module to minimig PCI or natami pci
- PPC cpu + 1…4Gb RAM option on a PCIe 16x card (+200¤)
- Radeon HD2400 or better (at mainstream price in ¤)
- optionally Natami PCI express card (with "run stand alone", "run as slave in a window", "act as AGA+ capable GFX+audio card" -features/-modes) (500¤)
- optionally minimig on PCI card and modes similar to the one above (200¤)

Or something

In future we could replace or add more CPU cards, GPU cards etc...

I am all for new ppc hardware, but this sounds rather unlikely. If it would offer much more value than my current 1.5 GHZ G4 ppc maschine I'd consider *if* it would run the apps I want faster than the current setup.
1000-2000 US$ is definitely too much nowadays. It must offer a lot more than existing solutions to justify such a price tag.
Why do you ask? Do you have actual plannings or just pipe dreaming?

What i would like in the future would be a new system that integrates full and totally transparent "classic amiga" compatibility.
You should be able to insert your original classic Amiga floppies (AGA or otherwise) and use them right away no question (nor special configurations) asked.
The board should have a video out in order to use classic stuff on CRT TVs (the way they were meant to be experienced).
In this regard natami would seem perfect...However... (and this is where Natami falls short), I should be able to use Blender a Flash enabled web browser, FullHD videos and all future/modern amenities.

That would be the perfect NG Amiga and I hope that the MAP has to do with this

@itix

Comparing an A500 to a modern enhanced Zorro/PCI equipped Amiga is a travesty! I love all things AGA and think that Alien Breed Tower Assault/Simon the Sorceror warrant an AGA machine on their own, never mind Slam Tilt, SimCity 2000 etc! I think what we're discussing is wouldn't it be cool if classic emulation (including graphic chipset emulation) was seemless!

@BigD

No. Not at all. I want to play classics like Tower of Babel (which I never completed) or Dungeon Master (which I didnt complete either) or maybe try other Amiga classics I never had chance to try. Or just try new ultimate high score in Pinball Dreams. But playing noname AGA games? Nah. Zorro? PCI? Nah. Expansion cards are so 90s :P

A500 does my low end Amiga needs and Mac mini my high end Amiga needs. I dont need $1000 mid range Amiga.

There are people proficient in these kind of things. What if people who can afford it set up a fund and combine other projects and create a project like this. I guess there are many kinds of comlications though

@tonyw
I own 3 (I also have a working 1084 ).

Anyway look at your local classified, sometimes you find little gems for a few quids (the best being 14/15" from Sony or Grundig).

Amiga Classic just look superb on CRT monitors. I always use them with my CD-32 and sometimes I connect the A2000 too.
I also have a nice WinUAE+TV-Converter set-up (I would do it with Sam+UAE too but I need a better converter as the one I have does not work with resolutions that are lower than 640x480, and you need these lower res for UAE to run nicely on Samantha).

Forget CRT's, LCD's and LEDS, they are all old technology. (surprisingly Crt>lcd>led technology wise) Make it compatible with hologram tv's or make the visions appear inside our brains.
