@all

Found a DSI:

- on favori, you add a group (ex. amiga).
- Inside you create or drag a link (ex. amigaworld).
- Inside you create or drag another link (ex.AMINET).

- you open the favory (yellow star).
- you open the group amiga

- you drag AMINET to be the first one and amigaorld the second one.
- you close the favory MUI window

- you try to open again the favory MUI window with the yellow star.

The window not arrive and a DSI.

The password, like on amigawolrd site, aren't saved ?

I have winned the right to be another betatester ?

@Mrodfr

Just for information, it doesn't happen on MorphOS, so it's likely a bug in the OS4 listtree (or its behaviour with newer list extensions, possibly).

As for passwords, it depends if you refer to the cookie (i don't remember if they're saved by default, see prefs->privacy to be sure), or if you mean the password manager that fills detected login forms (independantly from cookies). In the second case, you should know that login/passwords are saved on a per-url basis, which means if you logged on a page like "http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?blah", the login/pass will be filled only on similar pages. Of course you might want it to just consider the domain, but it's not always wanted (sites with multiple subsites and login forms, for instance).

@Fab

For passwords, you have right. Users must go to prefs/privacy and choose their needs.
(Just surprised It's not allready activated during first use).

For the DSI, It's effectively around MUImaster.library.

Thanks a lot, Fab, for you work and your great help for this AOS4 port. You are the best

@Xenic

Thanks man. I fixed the XML close tag in the config file on line 26 as you suggest and all is well now. I noticed it was able to parse through more fonts during initialisation.

EDIT: False alarm, still got some problems with fonts on other sites. Damn. :/

@djrikki

You launch with OWB-Launcher and no problem at all of this kind.

@Xenic

Thanks mate, that fix sorted me out.

@All involved.

Many thanks for this, very much appreciated.
Only had chance for a brief test but so far so good.
Will do some proper testing over the weekend.

Cheers.

cool. just playing with it.
but what immediately is visible is that the font rendering with reaction owb is *much* nicer. and yes - i have installed (and in use) the webcore fonts. even had them before.

regards...

Thank you very much!

It has been very good week for me and my Amiga, first Dvplayer, then Update3 and now MuiOWB!

Thanks kas1e and Fab.

I thought I lucked out and no problems at all. But on amiga.org I get the odd experience of seeing links and some text displayed in a Greek font, while the majority of the page is in a sans-serif font. I went in and checked my site prefs, and there's no sign of any Greek or symbols font in the prefs. No other site shows such a problem.

I _DID_ do the font install from the MUI_OWB drawer before the first run of the program, so the web core fonts should be in there. I had added them earlier, anyway.

Other than this site specific glitch, it works very nicely.

Paul

Thanks kas1e and Fab!

MUI OWB definately giving a faster and smoother browsing experience than Reaction OWB here, plus the added benefits of download manager, built-in bookmarks, etc.

Speed-wise, feels on a par with latest Firefox on Ubuntu (running on a dual core Atom). Whereas Reaction OWB felt slower and 'clunkier' at times.

Great stuff!

Not tried the 'Download Fonts' icon yet but seems ok without. Take it this will download MS Web Core Fonts?

Praise indeed! My first thought after I tried it was "I wonder what BillE thinks?"

It's a bit sluggish for my taste, so I'm sticking to NetSurf (as I'm contractually obliged to do), however I will be using this for sites that need Javascript.

It's a vast improvement over the Reaction version (except the wrong fonts get selected sometimes). Well done to all involved!

@MichaelMerkel

what immediately is visible is that the font rendering with reaction owb is *much* nicer

It is because different default fontconfig configuration. I didn't liked the look of fonts too on MorphOS. It can be easily changed. On MorphOS I've copied files "10-no-subpixel.conf" and "10-unhinted.conf" from "conf.avail" directory to "conf.d" in fontconfig subdir inside OWB directory. Then, after OWB restart fonts are more "Safari like", which I like personally.

Use RA-OWB for yr.no. It shows that site just fine.

Firefox 5 is really fast with heavy websites on my Ubuntu (x86) box.

Now posting with MuiOWB :)

Great! and another good news for who hasn't tried it... but now Hotmail is working also ! Well, i've logged in, read the mail and clicked on "answer" but not tested "Send"

Another thing : in my opinion IBrowse could begin to rest a little because my first impression (after having waited about 15 min in order to allow MuiOWB to load the fonts... well i have a lot...) is that MuiOWB seems to be, in functionalities, like IBrowse... Dont'you ?

Yes, the download progressbar is very appreciated!

Now waiting an Office suite...

Nic

PS : thanks to all involved people

@Fab

Do I understand it right? Does MUIOWB install fonts to the system Libs/ drawer?

If so, that is not a good thing. It should keep the fonts in its own directory and simply add them to the FONTS: assign path.

But I can't imagine that you've done such a thing as add stuff to the system drawers.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Ramiga+B would bring the bookmark panel, and given what i saw from MrodFr post, it could be that there's an issue with the bookmarks somehow in some cases. My bet would be on favicon that may trigger some "bug/missing functionality" on MUI 3.9.

@tonyw

I don't touch Libs directory. Not sure why you mention that. :)

As for fonts, the original MorphOS script downloads fonts to sys:fonts/_ttf/ (because they can also be useful for other programs), and OWB fontconfig config file (conf/font/fonts.conf) will look for fonts there, and in MOSSYS:fonts/_ttf/ as well (as fallback). It was modified a bit for the OS4 release, and unfortunately with a small typo triggering this fontconfig error. :)

But of course, one can change it to something like PROGDIR:fonts/ to have a perfectly isolated setup. No problem with that.

Yes. That was the issue. I think I got my point across without using the greater than & less than characters and the solution for entering those characters seems a little complicated for a simple forum post. I guess that's why I still prefer mail lists.

@Fab
I notice that the muiowb MUI directory contains the 68k textinput.mcc and I was wondering if it is necessary or not used if other lib like betterstring.mcc is available. I believe MOS has native version of textinput.mcc but a native OS4 version isn't available that I know of.
