As I wrote, amigaos.net page has more much bigger problems than some image with "not deep enough commentary".

Perhaps the site is already at their standards.

I quite certain no one has mailed Hyperion about it, it is much better to look for a reaction on some forum somewhere.

Why should anyone do that? Hyperion did that web site so they know what problems are on their web site, don't they?

If we don't make noise it is a signal we accept it.

What makes this interesting though, is that jorkany this time posted that he was going to post this on AmigaWorld.Net. Bully behavior at its best. Normally he has a lot more class than this.

He should have posted to Amigans.net instead. Would have been more fun.

I agree. I changed my original posting accordingly.

As such it is not big issue but we shouldnt tolerate it.

What was Hyperion's reply?

@damocles

If it was for Hyperion it wouldn't have been posted on this site, would it? Next time maybe you'd dare to post it yourself?

I remeber time when OS4 was nearly unuseable plagued by 68k drivers and non-JIT emulation (original pre-release). Many years were needed, but the OS evolved and become useable not only as nice toy. That page is there only for some months, give them time to improve it.

Perhaps not in this case. Nevertheless, we've seen posts from various individuals about difficulty in contacting the parent company and getting replies. Some people seem to see the forums as the only way to get their attention. *shrug*

I would guess that was a rather recent addition.

But Hyperion told you OS4 is nearly unusable plagued by 68k drivers and lack of JIT, didn't they? There is no problem because you were told it might have issues and problems.

Forgive me the whole AROS/OS4/MOS thing completely passed me by but why are MOS users so bitter?

What happened?

Most aren't.
There are plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of threads covering the history of the blue/red issues, easy to find if not easy to read.
Probably OT to discuss in this thread anyway.

Incidentally, you're persective on this 'bitterness' might give one some insight into how outsiders perceive certain members' attitudes towards they-who-shall-not-be-named (CUS...ahem).

Being MorphOS developer I don't have to accept competitor is selling their product using misleading material. It is not so much effort to correct it.

They're not. For the most part it's nothing to do with whether they're MOS users or not, it's just some people have an obsession with rubbishing Hyperion and AmigaOS 4. There's only one or two really poisonous people here, most people are tolerant even of "the other team".

Seriously. AmigaOS 4.x and MorphOS competing over what? The remaining 12 people interested in an NG Amiga solution? Or are we still fighting between camps trying to recruit their members?

@Spirantho

It's just that I never got in the politics of this "war".

But it's a reoccurring pattern from some MOS users, same on amiga.org (TakeMeHomeGrandMa springs to mind) and some others, the bitter signature under their avatars...

So I thought something must have happened?

So possibly this website could contain a hidden Pirate Bay mirror?

But seriously when it is Hyperion's web site they are responsible for any content there. Perhaps they didn't review the site properly when it went online. Perhaps they did but they didn't care.

Yes, I agree they should have reviewed it better, but that is a completely different matter. Posting about that on this forum doesn't help much.

It seems no one wants to look at any other ideas about how to attract new users beyond "start another website". That's the problem.
There has been talk of consolidation of Hyperion's main site, blog site, forum site, OS4 site, etc. afaik, no decision has been made.
If and when that is done, continuity and accuracy of the information dispersed should be easier to control.
That still won't really address the issue of attracting new users, but still...
