I need an idiots guide on how to install, the read-me says:
"If you are not using WinUAE but a real OS4 PPC Amiga copy Wazp3D.library-ppc TO LIBS:Warp3D.library
Does that mean copy it and rename it to "Warp3D.library"?

Yes. It should be warp3d.library at any system, but that PPC one is designation that it is the right one for OS4 system_________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way! |

you have to rename it to warp3d.library to work (make sure you backup your original first)

I dont have the test.blender
But i tried with the bricks_and_water_plugin.blend. I first tried to render the movie but i couldnt wait as i didnt know how many frames it had. I stopped somewhere at 200frames. It showed me under 12 seconds / frame. I tried to render the main frame afterwards and it showed also 11-12seconds.
I dont know much about raytracing packages but know how to press render from the menu :)
However i do get crashes which leads to total freeze if i want to kill it. In the end i have to kill it or reboot manually. Here's a short log from the crash. If someone wants the whole log i can send it with PM/Mail. The crashes seems not while raytracing but before or after, like after loading/saving. I use minigl.library 2.5

rendered from command line? the interface displaying the render in progress might slow things a little down even if not much. seems a little slow to me in comparison to the slowest machine on this chart:

Similar to Intel® Pentium® 4 2400MHz speed ... Can it be ...
UPDATE: there seem to be a lot of variation in test results on x86 and on Apple G4.
Not too slow me thinks. I wonder what kind of speed we get with OpenGL & SMP on AOS4.2...
someone has Debian running on x1000. How fast does it blend? Last edited by KimmoK on 24-Mar-2012 at 07:00 PM. Last edited by KimmoK on 24-Mar-2012 at 06:56 PM.

This is my "blender" start script,
bldyn -p 0 0 1920 1080 -G -W
Blender runs stable on the X1000 for me. You can change the screen mode (1920 1080) if needed._________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

There are 2 Warp libs, 'Warp3D.library' & 'Warp3DPPC.library'. I changed the Warp3d lib to 'os4_Warp3D.library' to keep it in the same directory, but not used. I then re-named 'Wazp3D.library-ppc' to 'Warp3D.library' & copied it over to Libs:. The Warp3DPPC lib remains as it was. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

that is strange, i would expect only one warp3d.library in libs, namely the ppc version for os4. i have encountered two warp3d libs only on warp os setups where warp3d.library is for 68k and there is still a ppc counterpart to it.
i guess the right way is to copy Wazp3D.library-PPC to libs as warp3d.library. you can rename the other lib or move it to backup folder, to see if it has any effect. Last edited by wawa on 24-Mar-2012 at 09:46 PM.

Warp3dPPC.library on os4 is a part of WOS emulator done by Joerg (contain warp3dppc.library + powerpc.library). Through most of warpos-warp3d games/demos do not works by any of the reassons, but still, some works.
@sicky You do everything right. You just keep warp3dppc.library untouched, save original warp3d.library somthere, and copy/rename alain's wazp3d.library-ppc to warp3d.library. Then reboot, go to prefs:settings, run wazp3d-prefs, choice compositing in the render method and so on. _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites |
