First DJ NIcks theme is out
http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=graphics%2Ftheme%2Fcrystal-djnick.lha
Also recent release 86 skins for AmigaAmp
http://www.amiga-look.org/artwork/86-skins-collection-amigaamp-nykk-deetronic

Please test it

Quote:
Hello Amigans. Welcome to my AmigaOS4+ 1st theme named "Crystal" v0.1 To start testing or using it please copy Crystal directory to SYS:Prefs/Presets/ directory first and click on Use Theme. If you like it, click on Save Theme and reboot to hear Boot sound. With this theme you will get: - skinned toolbars and windows - new mouse graphics - redesigned requester icons and all menus / submenus - new boot and error sound samples - wallpaper in 6 different resolutions (800x600; 1024x768; 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080px) - redesigned MUI preferences so it matches Crystal theme set - changed Filer preferences so its default colors matches Crystal theme set - added new skin for AmiDock and its subdocks / submenus. - added script for black Shell and colored text Please view included screenshots how theme should look. Additional infos: - If you want to use Black colored Shell instead default Gray version, just copy file: s/Shell-Startup to your Sys:s/ or S: directory.

Don't forget to backup your default Shell-Startup so just rename it to Shell-Startup.OLD and reboot. - If you want your MUI to look the same as Crystal theme, please copy Sys:prefs/presets/Crystal/prefs/Crystal-djnick-MUI.prefs to your MUI:Presets/ directory. Then start MUI Preferences: MUI:Mui and right click on the top left part of the MUI window and select Presets/Crystal-djnick-MUI [.prefs file]. Then MUI apps will look the same as Crystal theme.

KNOWN BUGS: Some of the software can't be opened using this theme. For example: AmiCygnX crashes on startup, MAME too... [!?] This is version 0.1 of the theme as I am designer [not programmer]. After we test it and make it work on all OS4+ Amigas, I will reupload another version [hopefully V1.0 next week]. Special thanks goes to Kas1e for enormous help of understanding how AmigaOS functions and where it places bitmaps. More to come soon!

@Amiboy

Download the theme and watch in snapshotsdrawer. There are 6 snapshots. Most themes have at least one snapshot in the same drawer.

@DJNick

Nice theme, however would be better if you use a default os4 icon for drawer and put your avatar over it. Your drawer icon is good looking but doesnt melt in with the rest of my drawers ;) Its cooler

EDIT: Here's the crystal theme
http://files.psykicko.com/pic/os4crystaltheme.jpg

I myself use the default os4 theme with a little bit smaller/thinner borders and icons.
os4grab

Thanks for the in short review under this post :)

@vox & all.

Results from DJNick's Sam460ex bounty:

Greetings to Amiga friends. I decided to release what I've done up to now after Amiga community bought me Sam460ex motherboard in February 2012:

- I've designed complete AmigaOS.net web site:
http://www.amigaos.net/

Credits page:
http://amigaos.net/content/88/website

- Created 1st AmigaOS4+ theme called "Crystal". With this theme you will get:
- skinned toolbars and windows
- new mouse graphics
- redesigned requester icons and all menus / submenus
- my boot and error sound samples [composed in Renoise tracker]
- my Amiga Encounter wallpaper in 6 different resolutions (800x600; 1024x768; 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080px)
- redesigned MUI preferences so it matches Crystal theme set
- changed Filer preferences so its default colors matches Crystal theme set
- added new skin for AmiDock and its horizontal and vertical subdocks / submenus.
- added script for black Shell and colored text

Download link:
http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=graphics/theme/crystal-djnick.lha

- Created set of 14 full HD wallpapers (AmigaEncounter, Abstract, Abstract v2, Abstract v3, Impact, Matrix [+Matrix col2], Futur, Retro, Retro v2, Space [+Space-green], The Ball, The Ball v2 and Xtra)
resized into 6 different resolutions: 800x600; 1024x768; 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080px.

Download links:
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/misc/djnick-hd_wallpapers_01.zip
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/misc/djnick-hd_wallpapers_02.zip

Some snapshots are in my DA gallery:
http://djnick2k.deviantart.com/gallery

- Composed 14 Amiga Boot sound samples [with and without voices] in Renoise tracker and saved as .wav and .mp3 files:
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=audio/misc/nykk-bootsounds.zip

- Collected 86 FREE good looking and working skins for your AmigaAMP mp3 player [http://www.amigaamp.de/] by Thomas Wenzel [www.toms-home.de]
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/theme/amigaamp-skins.zip
Screenshot: http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=modules/snapshot/display&fileid=7964

- Created cartoon music video (that became very popular up to now) with Amiga X1000 in the background here:

Mama voli bebu // Mommy Loves Baby [over 2.3 million views up to now]:
http://youtu.be/FDBqs7GOY_w

English version [over 260.000 views up to now]:
http://youtu.be/3uKFzqmijbk

... so many people are aware about new Amiga existance in 2013.

- Redesigned: Amiga-Look's website logo and header
http://www.amiga-look.org/ and used this site to upload all my work I've done for AmigaOS [and later OS4depot.net]

- Quick background work for Jack.

- Excalibur theme [I think it is not fully implemented and the way I wanted].

- Smaller graphics [logos, backgrounds and header designs] for various users from Amiga world.

* * * F.A.Q: * * *

* WHY IT TOOK SOOOO LONG:

- Bounty is finished in February 2012. Then it took over a month to receive motherboard. System couldn't boot so I had to order SATA cards from Australia. Thank you Belxjander for sending it to me.
- In the mean time I invested [~440 Eur] into new tower case, UPS, hard disk, DVD Rom, graphics card, USB Flash, keyboard, mouse, USB hub.
- After receiving SATA cards in April 2012 - system couldn't boot for over 3 months of really hard working and setting. AmigaOS4.1 update 2 boots for the first time in June 2012 [again thanks to Belxjander].
- In June I got Maxim baby boy so it took me another 2 months for movements from one town to another and preparing place for family. During that time I had enormous of work for various clients [video production, ads, commercials, animations, music, sfx, games, UI and web design]...
- In September 2012 I started to create themes, but it didn't work as I expected. As I am just deisgner [without any programming knowledge] - creating theme was extremly large and time consuming problem [discovering how system works, where are UI parts etc].
- InBetween Skinning and life I used to create everything others I listed in the beginning.
- And finally 1st theme is finished [with large help from Kas1e] this week, 1,5 years later after bounty is finished.

* VIDEO PRODUCTION ABOUT AMIGA SYSTEM?

As soon as I get fully working 3D driver I will record a video about AmigaOS and put it on my channel [I already have over 26 million visitors, over 9000 subscribers, between 50 and 100.000 viewers every day and over 2 millions comes by month].

My youtube tracking visits link:
http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/djnykk

I will not record AmigaOS at current state [as my graphic drivers are not capable of playing video at full speed, displaying Youtube videos, working in Graphics and Desktop Publishing software, composing music... etc.] as it will receive lots of negative votes.

I hope I explained all in very short text. More work will come in future.

@djnick

If estimated YT earnings are correct, woo-hoo, having your own creative channel for trance lovers and children will provide you nice future and platorm to promote yourself and AmigaOS

Thanks for the summary of the work, and just keep it coming when you can.

In time, it will be enough creative innovation to make Moo sillies look silly.
It would be nice to have summary on bounty page.

I just see a little discrepancy in second OS4 depot account

This is original one under nyyk
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=modules/sql/filesbyuploader&submitter=nykk%20deetronic

and this is the theme one under nick
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=modules/sql/filesbyuploader&submitter=djnick

So you have to decide it Nick / Nyyk

Well yes. The problem is - how to import default Amiga icon into Photoshop. I can`t even import 32bit IFFs [no program reads or displays that format]... I was lucky to finally start Photogenics I've bought over 15 years ago just to load IFFs and save as PNGs [and they are enormous large]. JPEGs has lots of artifacts...

Interestingly, DirectoryOpus 10 on the PC can open IFF and save them as JPG :)

Here Amiga (SAM 460) should be handy. Why not using Amiga Icon editors to do that share of job?

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/convert/pngicon2amiga.lha
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/convert/icontoiff.lha
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/convert/image2icon.lha

As far as I do remember old school DOS Alchemy use to handle well Amiga conversions
(yes, DOS Box again on PC)
http://dibr.nnov.ru/issue111101/alchemy.pdf

I see people suggested you do more themes, and manual on how to do themes

When you do your best (would be great if you could really immerse and make something one could propose to Hyperion to use in OS 4.2) - remember the big big task that would need someone who knows MUI is promise of MUI theme.

I am not saying you have to do it, but that would be a challenge. Especially if MUI themes could be used on MorphOS and OS3 too ... as far as I remember MUI doesnt easily support theming, so that will be a challenge.

http://www.amiga-look.org/artwork/mui-images
http://www.morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=9&topic_id=6467

And while browsing over, seen (on a locked thread) Steven has promised full MUI 4 for OS4, off course for those who are patient

@djnick

I guess you can do it the hard way.

Method 1:

adjust background to green, grab the picture, import the picture into Photoshop or Gimp, set alpha key color to green.

Method 2:

Or adjust background color to black, grab the screen.
Duplicate layer, convert image to black and white (gray scale), adjust contrast, until the picture is all white, use color to alpha tool, (this produces a white area for part of picture that should not be transparent)

Now convert colour image using the color to alpha tool (select black), some whiteness is lost but as soon as you enable the other layer the whiteness comes back to the image.

Method 3:

You also have magic cut tool but, it just does not produce equally good results.

I have not looked but you might find tools that can save icons to PNG.

@djnick

I always suggest people learn how to use ImageMagick

Of course you're now gonna howl at the moon or something because I dared suggest you use a command line set of tools rather than something with a GUI, but to make a sensible GUI for these tools would require a ####load of work to function, plus another ####load of boxes and arrows and config parameters every time you use it.

ImageMagick is basically a set of input filters, output filters and processing filters. Everything is converted to a common format before processing and converting to the target format. All sorts of cool semi-automatic filters exist, like scaling, cropping, rotating, whatnot.

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

Load 32bit Glowicon. Save 32bit PNG incl. alpha channel. Or only alpha channel. Or selected image. With or without alpha channel. Just as you like.

@djnick

Thanks for the summary of your problems and eventual success with your SAM460 system. Such transparency of events that delayed your work help shut up some few that previously have attacked you for not completing your work sooner. This community, or should I say, a few who might not be a part of the community any longer, but like to criticize those who continue to be a part of it, can be very harsh with their criticism of any delays or flaws, either real, or perceived.

On a lighter note, why did the baby change colors for the English version of your YouTube video, when compared to the original Serbian version?

Not to be critical of that video, but it amazes me what can get noticed on the Internet and attract millions of views. Society seems to have nothing better to do with their lives than cruise the Internet looking for all manner of content. Makes me worry about the future of the human race?
