Public download link bonanza......

the indieGO! Appstore allows developers to create public URLs of their apps so they can be downloaded without a special client now as well.

AEROS 3.9 for PC(USB IMG file, 8gb+ required) can be grabbed here:
http://www.indiego.rocks/file/downloadApp/fd72c5b3fa2dfd022b061c6b003b0024

Aminux USB Image (your AROS 68K Amiga on a Stick) can be grabbed here:
http://www.indiego.rocks/file/downloadApp/a61693ba9cf154fa010b60378b0f3283

AROS Broadway preview 2 (iso image) with Appstore, Amiwallet and our VAN-Player can be grabbed here:
http://indiego.rocks/file/downloadApp/4c3aaaeeee2d3e417a1651506a243fc2

Meanwhile we are finalizing AmiCloud : )

Developers can reach the web-interface now via
www.indiego.rocks

@Naz
We will fix the text rendering.
Advertising is the price for free unlimited traffic. Dropbox for example has a 50gb traffic limit. We have no limitation.

At least there are only 2 banners and no Pop ups or such nasty things.

@phoenixkonsole

1. Is there any way to see number of downloads?
2. Do downloads using URL links count towards monthly top developer bonus?

@Bugala
Hi,
Counting public downloads is useless because the web is full of bots.
The developer bonus program counts only users per version.
Public downloads can be downloaded without login so they are not registered.

We can add a download numbers if you like, or just a visitor counter.

@phoenixkonsole

well, even if there are bots etc. it might still give some idea about how much people are showing interest towards your products, but if you think it is completely random the bot amounts etc. and that they twist the numbers too mcuh to make any sense out of it, then i guess there is no point in making such thing.

@Bugala
It should not be too tough to add a simple counter on each public download side ; )

Right now we are working on a activation tool for AEROS/Broadway and in both Systems the store will become a integrated solution to find, download and install apps.

On the website area we are slowly working on a public showcase of apps available at the store.

Right now 420 users are registered.

>Right now 420 users are registered.

Nice.

So..... a unresistable "Help my Cat II" for EUR1 would already generate enough income to pay for 2 daily porridge meals for next 9000 days or so...
(not being evil or sarcastic, btw)

420 individual possible buyers is OK start.
I wonder how many have registered into AmiStore???

Bit off topic but:

@KimmoK

So far I have been thinking "Help My Cat!" as only one game. However, now that you mentioned it, I gave it a bit of a thought and came up with an idea for a sequel.

Hence there comes a question:

Did you mean your unresistable part as that you have associated "Help my Cat!" with Indiego so strongly that you were using it in sense that if there would be somehow known to be so good "Help My Cat!" sequel and only for 1 Euro that it would become unresistable,

or did you mean that just the thought that there would be "Help My Cat II" for 1 Euro, would feel like unresistable offer?

@Bugala

I meant mainly:

> if there would be somehow known to be so good "Help My Cat!" sequel

But really, even with simple games + 1€ fee, I imagine a lot of registered people might try it for 1€.

(still, no-one makes living with just porridge to eat, but anyway hundred(s) EUR of extra to spend on your fun hobby is double fun??)

(and I admit I so far have not registered to any store, it's on my todo list when I have free time @ home)

@KimmoK

Thanks for clarifying that.

Anyway, your mention of 1 Eur opened up the thought for sequel, since so far i was stuck with thought of it needing to be big enough for 5 euros, but actually, why not aim just for 1 eur size of game that could be even somewhat quick to make with exactly with that hope of hundred(s) eur extra.

When i get Kings of Israel finished first, I will look wether i start making that or not.

Latest Broadway preview 3 as 8gb+ usb stick image (.img not iso)
Some usb sticks have fewer blocks than others.... so if it fails try another one or use a 16gb stick

@phoenixkonsole

You can of course set up a /robots.txt (http://www.robotstxt.org) to prevent web robots/indexers from downloading public files, making download numbers more credible. You may want to do it regardless, to avoid having your error logs filled with requests for it. Also, you may want to hook in a short-url generator to the mix.
