I finally found time to install 4.1FE in my SAM460ex, which I received back in January .

Everything seems to be OK so far with exception of the screen mode or resolution. The highest resolution showing in System:Prefs/Screenmode is 1280 x 720, but I was using before 1920 x 1280 with 4.1.6.

I am not sure if this is related, but I haven't installed yet my Radeon files. I purchased Radeon v1.2 in Amistore before, but I can't find a link to download again. I have a folder that I saved when I bought the Radeon fies from Matt at Amiwest last year, which contains 2 .lha files (RadeonHD and RHDRMTestR700 and 7 other tool files.

Matt did the installation of the Radeon files for me, but unfortunately I don't remember in which directory I need to store the installation files, when running the installation.

Could someone indicate how to be able to restore and install other screen resolutions?

just unpack the first lha file (radeonhd) and copy the "RadonHD.chip" to your SYS:Kickstart folder. this should be enough.

and do a cold reboot after that.

So the archive has no installer? There should be an icon included that you open up to run the installer.

I installed tyhe radeon chip in System:Kickstarts, rebooted and I can now see the driver there.

I remember using RadeonHD 1.2 prior to the OS update, but it's not longer available in my Amistore downloads.

Go to http://a-eon.com/

Look for Downloads at the bottom of the page
Click on the Login link under it and log in.
Once you have loged in you should be able to download any Radeon HD driver version that you have paid for previously .

I found two files there for download: RadeonHD.lha and RadeonHD chip (Amiga Binary).

After decompressing and installing I have now a drawer named "RadeonHD" at System: and inside System:Kickstart two files: RadeonHD.chip and Radeonhd.chip.debug

The RadeonHD version inside System:Kickstart is 1.4 (02/07/2015).

The RadeonHD.chip file at System:RadeonHD drawer is version 1.0 (03/29/2014).

Is this the right setup?

After rebooting, I still don't have other screenmode resolutions available.

You haven't changed cables/connection by chance have you?

Sometimes if using vga you simply won't get higher resolutions available. This is true of any OS.
If using TruHD (1920x1080) or higher resolutions always use HDMI, DVI, or component.

p.s. Not important, but its very likely the resolution you previously used was either 1920x1080 or 1920x1200, not 1920x1280. First two are pretty standard, but 1920x1280 only exists if you create a custom mode (which is displayed at either of the 1st two anyway).

I didn't make any changes to my hardware configuration. I have been always using a LG HD 23 inch monitor, connected to my SAM460EX with a HDMI cable.

I have no other video cables connected, just my HDMI.

You can try ticking the 'Detect settings automatically" tab in the Monitors tab in Screenmode prefserences
