@TRIPOS

It's hardly been rushed out. And where is there any mention of it being first apart from your paranoid post?
Additionally deadwood and fab often work together, there's no competition (again, apart from your paranoid mind).
The idea of a beta release is to get people to find issues so they can be fixed. It is after all "beta".

Much as Fab has done, deadwood has done work here that benefits everyone. Both have a platform they predominantely work on, both are a credit to the overall community.

Unless you enjoy embarassing yourself give it a rest please.

@thread

Seems to be some misunderstanding. Javascript jit is enabled here already, but thus far for x86 AROS only.

@TRIPOS

That is why it is called beta. Besides, sometimes it is better release something than let it rotten on a harddisk. Bugfixing is a task that never ends.

That is because most JIT's are CPU dependent.

Nice work, hope OS4 devs keep Odyssey updated, I surprise Fab has'nt made a Odyssey update in a while for MorpthOS even.

Fab became father recently, guess his spare time has got a bit sparse.

i dont know but on osx ppc everything is working .
the endianess of jscript was fixed some monts ago by the dev of leopard webkit ppc (the same guy who port euae jit on osx) .

Nope. If you read carefully the discussions in OSX sites the guy who is in charge of Webkit PPC is using a mega patch with modern webkit and Javascript engine of two revisions of Webkit ago.

(At least this is what I understood...)

On the long term this incomplete solution will start creating issues with sites that make great usage of recent versions of Javascript.

@Raffaele

I briefly checked this mega patch - most of the code changes seems to related with reversing the usage of C++11, because the author is using gcc 4.2.

Wow, this makes it more advanced than OS4 version. I hope someone will port it to OS4 too.

@elwood

It is a shame that we don^t get an AmigaOs4 version.
Odyssey is now 3 years old.
Makes no fun to use this old browser.
More and more sides are bad working

There is the big endian issue in the javascript engine that needs to be fixed first before we can get a working version for MorphOS and AmigaOS 4. We just have to wait and see what Fab will do.

I think that is a hard work for a one-man development to get rid of this issue all by alone. Webkit code is very huge.

We need a skilled task force of Amiga developers analizing Webkit code, line by line.

Hi guys

I've start using Amiga x1000 for playing various Youtube audio mixes from Odyssey - I have v1.23 from 2013. But after 5-10 minutes of listening music - Odyssey blocks and audio stops... So only soft reboot works. Is there ANY newer version of the Odyssey? I can`t even listen to the music on Amiga x1000 without breaking / rebooting :(
