Don't rush out and buy a new card yet, a few 7000 series cards did not work with the driver update and I believe this has been fixed in the mean time. If I under stand correctly that update should be available soon.
Anyway, is a 7750 incompatible with the latest Radeon driver?
Any card that works with the 1.x driver should work with the latest driver too.
There was an issue with the driver that shipped with the Enhancer package that caused a few Southern Islands cards to fail (with both the 1.x and 2.x versions). It wasn't a driver bug; compiling the driver with GCC 5.3.3 mysteriously caused a few cards to play up. Anyway, there's a new driver that fixes this should be out soon.
