| I got a monitor question. I need a nice CRT monitor for my new Amiga 1200 and been looking around on Ebay and Craiglist. I found the Sony Trintron CRT Color Video Monitor PVM-1354Q. I can see from the photo's that it only has Composite, Y/C, RGB and component (Y/R-Y/B-Y) inputs
Since I do not live in Europe, this old high-end CRT does not have SCART inputs. But the Amiga 1200 I got is from the UK so it is a PAL machine. There is no way I will find a PAL monitor here in Arizona. If I get this monitor which cable would I need to buy? 25pin Scart to BNC Componant? Who and were sells these?
Model Description: 13" color monitor Composite, Y/C, RGB and component (Y/R-Y/B-Y) inputs, optional SD/SDI
Trinitron CRT provides a resolution of 600 TV lines
Composite, Y/C, RGB and component (Y/R-Y/B-Y) inputs
Frequency response Line (composite) 10MHz ± 3dB (Y signal only) RGB 10MHz ± 3dB Y/C 10MHz ± 3dB (Y signal only)
AG pitch .25mm

RGB should work as thats whats also used with the old C= monitors.
If it's a 9 pin SubD you might alsoget away with useing a cable from such a monitor. Sure plenty of those can be found on EBay.
Wether it will sync at 50Hz is still unknown....
Also running a single cinch lead into composite should give you a bearable picture ( RGB to be preferd). Last edited by Kronos on 28-Mar-2017 at 08:54 PM.

| Thats different from Europe Point Of View as there is Scart and VGA in nearly all the old LCD:s have here.
Bought a white Samsung LCD for the A1200 for Scart and Picasso IV to VGA. Has also HDMI, PC, DVI, USB that never used.
Was there not a RGB-Scart but RGB to DVI and also VGA. Composite,

Easier to buy another display. Have one to VGA for free if You pass by..
Our Hotel damped 30 big working Scart TV:s a few Years ago. Not very flat.
Don't know about the PAL-NTSC. Just somethings that known if any ideas.

| I looked up what cabled AmigaKit sold and only found one that is the Amiga Scart to standard 9 Pin RGB connector.
Amiga RGB to Philips CM8833-II / Commodore 1084S - D2 Cable With AmigaKit
I believe I will need the SCART TO AMIGA (RGB) CABLE WITH AUDIO if end up buying a U.S. style Commodore 1084s monitor? that's 23pin to 23pin. I assumed those has a captive cable with a 9pin RGB connector...
I see they do not offer a 23pin scart to 5 BNC connector cable to connect to a profession broadcast monitor like that Sony im looking at.
I checked Ebay and found one. this is 20 Pin
Female Euro SCART to 4 BNC + Audio Breakout RGB Cable w/ Sync Stripper Ebay ad
This can be used to connect consoles which output RGB video to an RGB monitor, such as a Sony PVM/BVM. First, connect the BNC end of this cable to your monitor. Then, connect your console to the SCART end of this cable with a console-specific SCART cable.
FOR USE WITH: Sega Genesis, Saturn, Super Nintendo, Neo Geo, Playstation, and other systems that output RGB via SCART Last edited by StylinLP38 on 29-Mar-2017 at 12:29 AM.

| The Commodore 1084 and equivalent Philips CM monitors here do not have Scart. The RCA is also seperate.
Just checked:
Philips CM8832-2 has an RGB input and the cable for Audio: two RCA:s from the machine goes to one plug in the monitor. A good buy for 40e. if remember correctly and cables came with it.
Just made for it and good display for the A500 like the 1084 but it's maybe older, still quite same?
