On march 1st, the distribution of the Image Installer V2 will start. Initially, there will be versions for Pegasos 1+2, and classic Amiga computers with PPC card.

In April an AmigaOne version of the Image Installer V2 CD and DVD will follow.

[edit] Headline amended.

The DVD version contains the Gentoo, Mandrake 9.1 Bamboo, Yellow Dog and PegXLin distributions ( for Pegasos 1 and 2 ). For the CD version, the wanted distribution(s) can be choosen.

So am I reading this right, if I order one of these CD's I can install mandrake 8.2 onto my Amiga1200 with BlizzPPC+BVision? I wonder if it uses the BVision card?

@Gemini:
That's right!
regarding BVision support, I don't know, you'd have to check with the Image Installer Team guys.

Btw, for some reason it was left out in the post, but as of march 1st there will also be a Pegasos 1 AND 2 version of the Image Installer V2 CD and DVD.

Cheers,
Ron

I know, I was being sarcastic

Just thought it a bit childish, considering the various reassurances given before that aw.net was pro-amiga, but not anti-pegasos. Cutting in a general press release and taking the word Pegasos out, I find a bit silly.

Cheers,
Ron

Was this added after the news was posted? Where's the censorship? I really wish people would give the moderators a chance before the usual comments kick in.

Cheers,
Ian

As i understood it from the orginal poster, some parts was actually stripped out... The same news article was also posted at a.org which said the following:

Seems to me like some parts are removed....

Yes, I also think that this censorship is a bit rediculous. In my opinion the moderators should change back to the original news post ASAP.

And never do this stupid moderating again!

@Tomas

I see - I agree with you that it does seem as if some of the news has been removed.

I do hope it was just a mix up.

Cheers,
Ian

Well the news story has been edited now

IMHO, news articles written by AW.net don't need to mention non-Amiga platforms and they should only be mentioned if something is associated with the Amiga as well - but editing a press release like this is going a bit to far...

ROTFL

Strictly speaking, a press release shouldn't even BE presented as news, even though many newspapers and magazines, online and off, frequently present them as exactly that. Well, it fills space with a minimum of effort

I don't really see the point of the thing to be honest, as the AmigaOne link is pretty tenuous.
