News   News : Prerelease CDs reach end users!
posted by Anonymous on 4-Jun-2004 6:45:34 (5111 reads)
June 3rd, the first AOS4 prerelease CDs have reached end users marking the end of a long wait for over 1000 AmigaONE owners, and of course the start of another wait for the final release, here is a brief resume of the breaking news:

The news broke here Its Arrived ( AW ) and on Amiga-news.de in followups to the German Language version of this article Prerelease Ships.

Within a few hours confirmations rolled in, Eyetech replied to one users enquiry saying that their direct customers would get theirs next week.

One member of #morphos popped into #amigaworld to tell us they were taking bets on how many banana dance smileys ( ) there would be once they were all shipped ( 183 IIRC - Im not sure if this is supposed to be all the users of A1s they think there will be or if only Bodie will be posting one banana thread ) but to help this along a Dancing Banana Overload thread has been started. Lets see if we can't get them to lose another bet.

Peter Gordon ( Xeron ) immediately directed users to his download site to get some OS4 toys.

It was confirmed that pre-release CDs are shipping with new A1 purchases.

Requests for a review rolled in ( and Im sure AW.net will be pleased to host it ) and no doubt someone will provide one but I believe Total Amiga Magazine has one in their next issue.

Enjoy... and... well done Hyperion and friends.

They are most likely snowed umder with mail.. have you tried contacting your A1 delear?

Hyperion have shipped the CD's - so find out if your delear has recieved them first. Then wait a week. Its coming through - its trickleing..

You wait 10 years and loose your temper over 2 weeks?

Has it been already 10 years...? YES IT HAS
And some people dare to say I'm impatiance!

But I have a 'deal'/agreement with hyperionmp for a long time, and it's almost impossible to contact him and to ask how things are going with our 'deal'/agreement.
And it's very important for me(esspecially for my study) so that's why I hope he reads this

And no, I didn't loose my temper!

Wow! Is the 1000+ users an official figure? If it is that is fantastic.

Can't wait to read a review.

Although I did think about waiting for the release version of OS4 before purchasing I now don't think I can wait any longer.

Quick question for Hyperion: If I purchase the existing Hyperion games catalogue - will I be entitled to free updates to the OS4 enhanced versions that were rumored to be coming out when OS4 is finished?

Tehe...funny....could've been a bit more subtle though.
