Well, it's more like a pre-alpha or something. But it does play MPEG's quite nicely here too. I guess an MPlayer port (or something) would be the way to go though.

You could also head over to the mainpage and download FPSE, in case you are interested in PSX emulation.

Tried to play DVD's (after setting correct device) but didn't work. The DVD drive had quite a bit of activity (but no output on screen) and after was unable to quite AMP2, good to see people starting to develop for OS4, keep up the good work

It's a step in the right direction, definitely.

I couldn't really play a DVD here either, though loading one of the video-files on the DVD straight from CD0: and then playing gave me some video output. Not very fast though, but I'm assuming that's a device issue, from the appearance of it.

It will be interesting to see how it evolves, so keep up the good work!

I've tryed AMP on several movies and only divx5 and xvid won't be
played...
Divx3 will work very well even on my G3@666, only bad thing
that wasn't so stable and on divx exit amp will block very often, but
is an alhpa and I can know it
MPEG however will fly and work VERY WELL :)
mp3 reading isn't perfect because not all mp3 is read someone will
give me "filetype: unknown"...
DVD won't work, but if you will select a .vob it will be played
however on my G3@666 vobs isn't played at full speed and I wonder if
an optimisation will be made (mybe picasso96 PPC will help...), on
LinuxPPC(debian), with Totem(gui for xine codecs), I can play dvd at
full speed with 100% cpu usage

Can someone post a screenshot? I've confused AMP with AmigaAMP... and now I dont think I've ever head of "AMP"... no OS4 here yet btw.

Does not work here at all (A1-XE G4, ATI Radeon 7000). Best I can get is a couple of seconds of black screen (if I use Bestmode or manually select the screenmode) and that's it. Window mode won't show anything. I tried with the AMP-GUI, and also from shell - same results

this one adds nicely up against dvplayer and moovid .

Thanks for the work. Playing 4 or 5 mpegs at full speed & all playing their respective audio is pretty entertaining

DVD playing didn't work here either though. Lots of drive activity then a GrimReaper.

Any chance you can post a list of supported Datatypes?

I just saw that you have also provided a link to a PSX emulator. I've just tried it and must say that I am impressed. I've just tried a few demos on a cd which came with my Playstation and most seem to work .

If I remember correctly (need to verify it when I get home), the errorcode only get a non-zero value when overlay is used. Error 3, according to P96 includes, apparently indicates:

"PIP not available for other reason"

Maybe a driver issue?

You can play them with Moovid under OS4. But I don't remember if it was released with the pre-cd...

Yes you can view most of the comon formats but sound is a different story...i have a hole season of "Alias" that i'd like to watch but no sound codec for it yet
