posted by gunne on 25-Jan-2005 9:48:45 (4175 reads)
An announcement from GGS-Data (Sweden) and Kiwi Multimedia (Denmark). GGS-Data and Kiwi Multimedia start cooperating.

For customers of Kiwi Multimedia in Denmark it means that orders of Amiga assortment, Pegasos computers and Amigaone computers should be placed in GGS-Data webshop and will also be shipped to Denmark from GGS-Data in Sweden. There is possibility for costumers in Denmark to pick up shipped goods at Kiwi Multimedia in Denmark. All support will be handled by GGS-Data.

The range of software products by Kiwi Multimedia, for instance, Adobe CS Premium, Maxon Cinema etc is now available to purchase through GGS-Data in Sweden.

Sounds like a good idea!

Presumably there are other countries where there is limited local support, which could be significantly bolstered by support from an established company elsewhere...

To me it sounds like Kiwi multimedia finally gave up supporting the amiga / pegasos. It is sad to see another danish distributor give up on the amiga scene. That been said, GGS-Data do have some very reasonable prises, and from what I have gathered from the forums they are actually very professional. Finally even though the danish marked lost such prominent amiga distributors as Betafon and now potentially Kiwi Multimedia, it is very nice and heart warming to see other attempts like ITselect popping up

I have nothing but good words about GGSData. I upgraded my Pegasos from Gunne and everything went smoothly and quickly. Just the other day I received OpenFirmware update from him, so can't blame for lack of support either.

Yup, GGS-Data is in my opinion the best Amigastore in scandinavia, maybe in Europe too. Always great service and even the "we got your list of items" mail is written so it seems personal. (maybe it is.. who knows.. :))

when I order Amiga stuff, I do it from there without any hesitation and I recommend them heartilly.

While I don't really have an opinion on the news item itself, I thought I'd just chip in with a bit more praise for Gunne. He is, in my experience, a very reliable dealer and a stand-up guy, and I have never had any problems when doing business with him.

This sounds like Kiwi finally exiting the Amiga market , leaving its customers to GGS (which also seems much more active than Kiwi have ever been!).

Anyway here in Denmark we're used to buying Amiga stuff from other countries, situation have made that necesary(sp?) a long time ago. I heard good things about Kiwi's service but their prices always was very high, so I have bought much of my hardware in Germany (vesalia and KDH).

In Denmark the only active dealer we have left is www.amigaone.biz, they are focused on OS4/A1 which is nice as you can get all the rare Classic parts elsewhere.

Good luck to GGS-Data, seems like a company with great service.
