   posted by shoe on 28-Feb-2005 16:45:39 (7345 reads)
The Swedish computer magazine Datormagazin had a first look at A1/OS4 in the latest issue which will hit stores tomorrow. With over 90000 readers per issue it's one of the bigger magazines in Sweden. And to sum it up. They liked it!

"Fast, stable and cool operating system. Very interesting development platform"

Wasn't that the old, now defunct, swedish amiga magasine?

Will have to buy the latest edition it seems.

steff: yeah they died and woke up again , i still see thoose mini game/review mags dmz had in my head....AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH THE PAIN!..

DMZ was perfect before they moved the game/scene etc stuff into that mini mag addon thingy, it nearly killed them too though i think they actually died too but when they came back it was back to the old design and the minimag was scrapped but by then Amiga reviews was almost gone so i stopped buying DMZ.

That said, i still got a few of thoose "newspaper" looking ones (pre 1990) ....aaaah the joy ...haha

@Shoe,

Great news.

It´s quite alot of people that still remembers the joy of the Amiga. Or the
fact that they could have like 15 programs opened at the same time, while
switching screens quick front and back, still very impressive.
(I myself had one (1) diskette which booted and ran AsmOne, Dpaint3,
Protracker, and several others on startup, on a 1MB A500, truly amazing)

Oh well, the nostalgia.. .

Anyway gotta buy the Mag, and hope they will bring a OS4 section.
(which will later expand and overtake the magazine)

@Restore2003,

But you know the rule... Don't eat yellow snow, and don't smoke blue mushrooms.

For those who don't read Swedish (like me) you can get a badly-translated version of the forum postings through Systran. The discussion seems fairly civil to me

I know this is off topic, but speaking of Systran, I'm wondering if anyone has worked with it. I found a copy of it for a dollar and want to use it for some documents at work. I realize no translation software is 100% accurate, but I'm wondering if it is at least close.

Kewl!

I used to buy DMZ or DatorMagazin since 1986
I actually missed the first number but I have them all since
the second number uptil they stopped writing Amiga stuff.

I hope this trend of writing about Amiga (both AmigaOS &
MorphOS) will not be one-timers.

I know it's not an english word, but the first thing that popped into my head when I read that was "Dat0r, d4 m454z33n 4 1337 h4xx0rz"

Here come the rotten tomatoes...
