Internet News   Internet News : www.thinkcommodore.com launched!
   posted by soren_ladegaard on 27-Mar-2006 21:23:03 (3122 reads)
New Commodore Website Launched!

"Think Commodore" is now online at www.thinkcommodore.com

What is Think Commodore? It's a website about emulating the old Commodore 64 and Amiga computers on your Macintosh. The site covers the different C64 and Amiga emulators available for the Mac. It also acts as a guide on how to play your favorite music from the C64 or Amiga. Information on which players to use and links to Commodore music related websites. You'll also find links to downloading those old games and demos.

I switched from the PC to the Mac about one and a half year ago. While there are tons of websites covering the C64/Amiga, emulation, games, music etc. on the Windows PC decent Mac related websites are very hard to find. You end up with dead links or out-dated websites at best. That's the reason why I started "Think Commodore".

Think Commodore is not supposed to be a comprehensive guide to emulation with in-depth tutorials. It's more like a well thought out links collection with a nice design and a little extra "goodie-info" here and there.

As of March 27 the first version of Think Commodore is online. Updates, revisions, new info etc. will be added on a regular basis.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Søren Ladegaard - Denmark
Webmaster

PS: "Think Commodore" is an homage to the classic Apple slogan "Think Different". But you already knew that didn't you

That's odd. It works fine for me. You're the second to say you can't access the site. I've checked the site on many different machines prior to launcing the site.

Can't figure out what the problem is.

Works fine here with Aweb 3.5.07 beta, I'm still thinking about geting a Mac so could be usefull in the future.

Also no problem on my PC with firefox which shows how Aweb doesn't quite display the pages correctly but thats down to out of date software and not the site.

It loads here.. But i do experience some pretty severe rendering problems in firefox on winxp. Here is a screengrab of this problem: http://handyhub.cjb.net/albums/div/problem.jpg
It seems fine in IE though..

The version of my firefox is: 1.5.0.1

The link to the Commodore book contains bogus info:
Quote:
It's been more than 20 years since the demise of Commodore.

Umm, ok, let's see, C= went bust in '94, and we are NOT in 2014....how about 'more than 10 years'?

@soren_ladegaard

You're already linked from lemon64 website. Great !
Have also a look at subfrequenz(A lot of links to C64 resources)...

BTW, http://www.c64-resource.de/ seems to be down...

@Tomas

I have the same. The site is partially unreadable due to that vertical image.

When you get the "forbidden" message or you get the source code rather than the rendered page just hit the "reload" button. It usually works after a few cliks. I have experienced that it requires 50 reloads to display properly though. I've been in contact with the hosting compay. They havenever had a problem like this - but they are looking into it now.

It works and looks grate from my laptop at Home with FireFox under Windows XP, but I get the forbidden message with the same laptop when I try to access the page from work.

So its not just a browser issue.

Nice site when it works

I am away from my AmigaOne in eastern Washington on Holiday. All I have here at the old home place is a Pentium 2 running W98se and Firefox.

The site would not load on the first try, but reloading once brought up the site fine.

Nice work. I am going to send this information on to some Mac using friends of mine.
