Why are landlords allways such rude, obnoxious, liar criminials?

Ouch. Sorry to hear about the way you were treated by your own family. I would almost ask who's controlling who? Is your brother telling the lawyers what to do or are the lawyers running the show? Either way, that's no way to treat family.
Not much I can do to help unfortunately. For wind generators, you might want to check out the SpeedStram 3.7. It's supposed to cost about $5100 if you're installing it yourself. At 1.8 kW, it does't produce all that much power, but enough to ruin some lights, computers and a fridge. It's about the cheapest that I've seen these things. Obviously it's not the first priority but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

| Check this out, world record wind turbines, not so expensive.
http://www.windside.com/index.html
Why The Windside Wind Turbines are the best on the market?
Quite simply Windside Wind Turbines work when others don’t ! In the gentlest of summer breezes and in violent winter storms. When others fail due to frost, ice, snow or high winds Windside Wind Turbines continue to produce. Windside Wind Turbines will produce at least 50 % more electricity in a year than traditional propeller models. Many things make the Windside Wind Turbines extraordinary and their total life cost make them the best value for money.
10 years quarantee
I would have laptop for you, but I don't like to idea to post it over seas. |

Still, that's pretty hardcore/hippie-esqe, depending how you look at it. But then again, my German grandparents did it, and with far less tools. I grew up in the southwest corner of North Dakota, so I know the area they are moving into. It can get pretty cold, yes, but I'd worry more about the wind in the winter, and tornados in the summer. I'd definately take advantage of all that wind power, however.
Best of luck to him!Last edited by Legion on 23-Dec-2006 at 07:05 PM.

Well, not ALL landlords are like this. Indeed I know a pair of landlords who have actually lost money over the years through trying to be fair and provide help for their tenants where possible.
The lesson is to be very careful with any large financial committment, even more so when it involved family.
Best wishes go out to Deron and his family. I wonder if I could persuade work to stump up for some PageStream licences... _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

| I just wanted to let everyone know how fantastic PageStream is. I just used the latest beta of 5.1 for a project to create Calendars for friends and family's christmas presents. It worked really well, only one or two crashes but other then that held up to 12 hours worth of work and a over 100 meg file. The OS4 version is a little less stable but if you have an amiga or a PC I highly recommend picking up a copy. Well worth the money!
Merry Christmas everyone! Bill "tekmage" Borsari |

| Thats a sad story, its really ugly when your own family cheats you like this. Best of luck, it must be really hard to start everything all over again
I just spend my last money (says my GF) on iBrowse yesterday but PageStream will definitely be my next purchase, probably in January.
Never give up, never surrender! Merry x-mas Troels
PS. How is the situation regarding an OS4 native version of Pagestream? Last edited by Troels on 24-Dec-2006 at 01:17 AM.

| I dont think a lot of us here can give much, but if 10-20 of us can send a small amount, it will really add up for this guy.. I sent $30 usd, which isnt much, but imagine $30 x10.
Deron, I'm really sorry to hear of your problems. I hope your new plans work out for you. |

| Well, I am truly sorry to hear the bad news.
Now, since I was already contemplating upgrading from PageStream 3.x to 5.x Pro, I went on their web site and did just that.
Every little bit helps.

| If I lived in the area, I'd definitely help out by buying a couple goats and some pack-goat equipment. What a strange coincidence - I was just researching pack-goats a couple months ago. Think of it... you can go for a long hike in the woods with your goat carrying your pack for you. |

| Did I read it correctly that he is hoping to sell Pagestream? If so I'm sure some company would really do well to snap it up as it is a brilliant product.

I think that the news poster wants to encourage people to buy copies of Pagestream, not that Deron is selling the source code and rights to the program. I plan to buy it. However, when I have the money to spare is a different question.

| Hello! Thanks to everyone who has helped us, even if it was just a prayer or a kind word! We are still moving forward, but we have a long way to go. Thanks to elwood(and others) for spreading the word. We hate asking for help, but sometimes lessons in humility come hard.
Yes, we knew it got cold etc here! I did a lot of research before we committed. Way better than an apartment in a city. Also, the weather is not as bad as Wisconsin, as you recall were we lived before this! What is worse this is pretty much how I resettled into WI after I got divorced. Only then I had money from the sale of our house...
After a particular hard week, I am glad to be in front of a computer on the Internet here in town. As an update (and reminder that now is still a good/no great/ time to upgrade ) I posted the following on our PageStream list. Sorry if it is a duplicate to you!
Deron (I can be reached at grasshopperllc [at] yahoo ]dot] com for now) --------------------------------------------
Just checking in. I've been trying to read (and answer) my yahoo email a couple times a week, but this last week we were snowed in. Our small "house" construction has not gone well, between the snow, cold and wind it has of course hampered every step. Now all the vehicles would not start last week, including the generator, and finally had to drive 10mi in the snow on the ATV to get to some place we could call out with the cell phone to arrange a ride from some local friends so I could get to town and get parts. Not fun! We are of course starting to really sweat getting things up and running so we can get back to full time work!! Everything seems to take longer, cost more, and I am just so discourged. Thanks to everyone who has ordered upgrades over the last 6 weeks, I have tried to get the access doled out right away and everyone should be caught up. If you are still thinking about upgrading, it is still much appreciated (as if it wasn't always ).
Good news, we have been able to figure out how to finish framing despite not being able to get all the footing peirs poured. A combination of steel anchor posts driven into the ground, and outside guy lines until we can pour under the house this spring. Plus, the 50-60mpg winds and -20F temps have ended and this coming week is going to have highs around 40F which should give us a chance to make some better progress.
Once we do get the frame up, I do have some updates to compile and upload. We only pray it is soon!
Thanks for everything! Please keep us in your prayers!

Shame you are so far away! On the coldest night last month, two of our goat does had twin kids. Sadly they each lost one, but the two survivors we have named...

I think you are correct in the original posters intent, but if I found the right partner I would certainly consider it. I've kept my eye out for such a company/group, but no luck. I know my limitations, and doing everything is _not_ best for PageStream. I'm a programmer first. I can write a few articles/help files when the mood strikes me. I suck at PR/sales.
So if you know of someone....
