Thanks for taking the time to do a review, I'm glad to hear you're happy with your new purchase.
Good to see that Elbox are as comitted to driver development with the Radeon as they were with the Voodoo. |

| Looks like Radeon drivers need some more updates, but it can be fast even on a1200 if compared with voodoo3. Nothink about warp3d support ? (the most interesting think for Radeon). os4 and mos have radeon support for w3d, maybe it can be easy ported to os3 .. I know, for hyperion it's will be pretty easy :) Last edited by kas1e on 09-Apr-2008 at 06:52 AM.

| I have had good experience with Elbox too, but that time with the FastATA'99 to which I tried to connect a 160GB harddisk. The driver couldn't handle more than 137GB at that time but they fix it on my request and let me try their beta versions.
Great support!!
About the Radeon vs. Voodoo: I think both cards are faster than the A1200 can handle in these 2D operations which is why they show up pretty much equal in the tests. Giving the cards something more to compute but less to transport over the bus may uncover some differences.
Oh, reading this I feel like rebuilding my old A1200 which actually has a BPPC and BVision..! _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| Good review, very positive. Nice to see you've got your Miggy back in use, especially after so long.
You've just encouraged me to get my old A1200 sorted out again. | @IKE Thanks for the detailed and helpful review of the latest version of the Mediator PCI bus board.
When I has looking at buying an SX the other year I could not find any good reviews of the current version and your review would have been very helpful.
On that note as one of the advantages of the Radeo card is ment to be faster local RAM access for PCI cards like the network card it would also be nice to see some sort of network speed comparison with only the Vodoo3 card in and also with the Radeon fitted that way we can see if it makes any real diffrence to the speed under os 3.X at this time.
Thanks again.

| What happens to native pal/ntsc AGA screens, do they get routed through the Radeon card?

| i have overall much better results on p96speed for voodoo3 in my mediator4000di than stated in the review. (up to 2x actually). maybe its due to 1200 in this case, but anyways no reason to switch to radeon either way. Last edited by wawa on 09-Apr-2008 at 01:09 PM.

No. You either forget native modes, use two monitors or get a scandoubler and a monitor switch. |

You are probably correct. It's hard to find any good tests to run to do a good comparison. If anyone knows of any, I'd be glad to try them out.
By the way, go for it! Rebuild that A1200!
