Regarding OS4 port, recall some screenshot from Andrea showing VLC on OS4 last year, it was not working too well back then though, (alpha alpha version).

| That port was running under Cygnix, so that its GTK GUI could be ported, but also because of the extra layer of X11 it was too slow to be useful.

| a console version should not be so hard to port. by the way, i don't think that another console player is useful at moment.. and i think also we need a lot of other more important software now..

| is it just me or are these players just a gloryfied version of multi view???
I mean if multi view had all the data types (exec's) and a full screen mode
wouldnt it be identical ??? play pause plays views all sorts of files?
I mean isnt it just a basic GUI at the end of the day!!

The GUI part could be easily created from scratch using MUI or Reaction. It's not very complex.

| Even though VLC is what I'm using on other OS's DVPlayer is greas for AOS 4 and my main movieplayer. If there's something it can't play you can use MPlayer.
It would be nice to have VLC but hey... how much do we need a browser? The day that I can use http://www.blip.se/ and then play yatzy from AOS 4....... |

| AFAIK multiwiev is not very good for stream type data and it needs overhauling before it is cabable to show video stream.
