Announcement   Announcement : Brainwasher - donate to motivate
posted by mailman on 11-Sep-2008 16:55:26 (2995 reads)
Two amigans (Arbuz and Zbysiuk) talked to the author of BrainWasher (instant messaging tool with support for GaduGadu, Jabber, ICQ) and he agreed to speed up the development when motivated enough.

MiniQ (the author) assures to support voice chat using GG, Tlen and Jabber protocol (unfortunately support for Skype is not possible due to lack of documentation). There is one condition - collect the sum of at least 1000 PLN (approx. 320 EUR). Treat this information as reliable. This initiative for sure will be completed but how much time it will take and how many protocols will be supported depend on the sum of collected money. Author assures that technical support and future development will be provided after completion of the work, so any future changes in the protocols will be implemented into BrainWasher. This initiative does not indicate that this tool will become a commercial product. The project still stays freeware. Donation is just for motivating purposes. Money can be donated directly through the bank account. Status progress on the development and the money collected will be published from time to time on the project www page.

BrainWasher is meant to become the successor of AmiGG, including more messenger services.

Im more with jahc's reply to when people complain of donating.
"Pay for what you use now, not what you hope to use that isnt there" :D

There is a lot of apps that was said, this will be made, that
etc, people donate and still the stuff lacking or the app dead.

But ofcourse donating to motivate is a great thing. The app coder knows people likes and/or use his software.

I dont understand Polish so i dont know the features. I tried that google translate but it gives me a headache :D

Anyway, great that there is work on more messengers :) Keep up the good work.

Amigg has been developing since 2003 year. Nowadays it has support for popular (in Poland) protocols Gadu-Gadu (text, files, graphics, emoticons) and Tlen. Versions for Aros, morphos, os4 and os3 are available.

Brainwasher is completely rewritten version of AmiGG (with ICQ, Jabber and Voicechat for gadu-gadu support). MiniQ, author of AmiGG is working on MUIWin wrapper
http://translate.google.pl/translate?u=http://amigg.integradesign.org/PL&hl=pl&ie=UTF8&sl=pl&tl=en

so Windows version of BrainWasher should be compiled from the same sources as amigaish versions.

You could download http://amigg.ppa.pl/Files/AmiGG/AmiGG.lha and test yourself. It is the most advanced IM for Amiga platform.

sorry for my English (but should be better than google translation :) )
