I really appreciate pftp! It's a great client and i use it a lot to transfer data from and to linux/Amigaos4.0 classic/amigaOS4.1. It works even with ssh-keys, great!
Only one thing doesn't work. If you want to connect to a server which doesn't allow passive connections, pftp can't connect. Only for file transfer, you can choose pasive/active mode, right?
There's a ftpd-server for AOS4 at os4depot.net which seem not to be able to handle passive connections and therefore, I can't connect to it with pftp. (I'd like to use that in order to transfer data directly between my two AOS4-systems )
From linux with ncftp, I can connect to that aos4-ftpd if i switch to active mode BEFORE I connect to it (and this seems not to be possible with pftp?).

Well, with the XBox FTP server (one of them anyway), it first tries passive, the XBox returns an error, then PFTP switches to active from then on. I guessed that would work everywhere, but I can add a tick box for servers that are active only.
Edit: I've just done it so it'll be in the next version. EMail me and i'll reply with a preview build so you can test it. Last edited by xeron on 12-Nov-2008 at 06:00 PM.

| Hope it is more user friendly now. A friend tried it on his A1200, it took a while until we finally realised how to transfer files, and is it usable if you don't have a MMB?
It's a nice program otherwise. Is it possible to run it in a window now? Last edited by fryguy on 12-Nov-2008 at 06:02 PM.

Well, there is full documentation in the archive and online...

It always was, right from day one. Thats what the left and right arrows are for (same as in an old-fashioned 2 pane client, click the arrow pointing to the target).

| Yeah i guess we should have read the readme's but people are lazy ;)
Would it be possible to make it to use popup menus. So that you can right click and select transfer queue or something like that? |

| Good to hear, but i think it we be nice if you would consider a window mode as well, it feels a little overkill to run it in 1280x1024 or higher if you're using that resolution in WB. |

| Window mode is tricky because of the modular nature of the program... you're not limited to one local & one remote browser pane. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

| Because you can have any number of any combination of local, FTP and SFTP browsers, and you can transfer files directly between any 2 browers of any kind. You can open and close them at any time.
The easiest way to do that is to have one window per browser.
I don't get why some people are so desperate to have it all in one window anyway, I personally find PFTP's interface very comfortable. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6
