Always good to see Bars&Pipes updated.

Is this release OS4.x compatible? So far I'm not getting great results on 4.0

At least I'm sure that camd.library is up to date here.

Alfa, keep up the great work!

@Alfred

Thanks a lot for the update! I'll send you a paypal donation soon.

@Lyle

I was getting crashes on OS4.1 with v0.6 but they went away with v.0.7, allowing me to record and playback, but I didn't test every single option so I could have missed something.

Haven't tried 1.29 yet. Are you refering to this new release or the previous one?
[edit]
Actually I don't see an updated OS4 release, the 1.29 archive is for OS3.x and possibly UAE so I wouldn't expect it to work with OS4 as it doesn't have a misc.resource and cia.resource in the kickstart...[/edit]

How do you send him a donation? I can't find any PayPal info on the website.

If I understood it correctly:

I am interested in giving barsnPipes a go on my sam440 but I dont have a usb midi interface I can use to connect my old roland midi modules.

Could someone recommend one that works with OS4.1 on the sam for up to about £40 in price I can purchase easily.

Thanks.

@dwyloc
There is a list of compatible MIDI interfaces on the USBMIDI support site.

http://home.bellsouth.net/p/pwp-AOne

However, there have been some issues with USB on the SAM, so it's not a "slam dunk", and I can't guarantee anything.

I had a discussion just a few weeks ago about that, on one of the Amiga sites I frequent (maybe this one!)
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=28116&forum=33#477264
There are some new, inexpensive USB MIDI interfaces based on the GM5 chip. These SHOULD be compatible as well, but I have not yet been able to test one.
Another forum I frequent is distributing a 5 in, 5 out interface in kit form, but I have not yet got the money together to get one.

If you take the plunge and try an interface, please let me know either way, so I can pass that information along to others who want to know. I can post it to the website as well.

If you want to know about a specific interface before you buy, mention it in this thread and I'll pass along anything I have heard.

@Cobra, KimmoK,

I don't know if Alfred has a paypal link, but I believe he would appreciate the support.
I had his home address here somewhere, but I cannot find it, nor should I pass it around. If you can find a way to show your support, I'm sure he would appreciate it. He has done a LOT for all of the Amiga communities, especially with his work in Bars&Pipes.
