Announcement   Announcement : OnyxSoft launches new homepage and releases a big update!
   posted by Deniil715 on 12-Mar-2009 20:15:33 (3547 reads)
OnyxSoft is very proud to present our new an improved homepage:
www.onyxsoft.se Drop in a look around!

We also release a very big update: CodeAudio v3.0, formerly known as TheMPegEncGUI! Yes, CodeAudio is the new fresh name of TheMPegEncGUI. (Some of you who were already users of TheMPegEncGUI may already have seen it through the autoupdate feature.)

CodeAudio has got a Wizard to make MP3 encoding as simple as it possibly can be! It can detect and load the tracks from an audio-CD, get track information from the Internet, automatically rename the mp3 files, download all necessary 3rd party packages required, all with a few mouse clicks on the "Next" button

CodeAudio v3.0 - (68k) Full-featured GUI for audio codecs.
  • An MP3 encoding Wizard has been added which makes it easier than ever before to make high quality MP3 files in no time!

  • Added support for Flac, the free lossless audio codec.

  • Updated locale catalogs for German, Italian, Spanish

  • Works on MorphOS with MUI 4.

  • Restructured every encoder GUI that had more than one page and turned them into virtual groups.

  • Made it possible to drop directories on the list window and the Wizard.

  • Updated to the latest Lame executables for all systems on the auto-update server.

  • AutoUpdate should work in E-UAE/Linux now.

  • Should not try to locate the CD drive at startup everytime now. Also enhanced the CD detection code a lot so it works on MorphOS and WinUAE.

  • Better installation of FreeDB.

  • Uninstall options for CDDB and FreeDB if they were installed by TheMPegEncGUI/CodeAudio.

...and much more minor fixes and improvements all over!

Enjoy!

@All

Thankyou very much for your very kind comments!

I hope one day I will figure out how to read audio-CDs directly without going through the file system. That would make it fairly complete I think.

Well this is a must have feature for CodeAudio 3.1

Then please tell me how

The best thing would be a cdda.library - a library to read raw CD Digital Audio track by track from any CD in any ATAPI drive. The has got to be a standard for doing this, doesn't there??!

CD burners seem to struggle with a hole heap of drivers for different brands so perhaps there is no standard

Have a look at SecondSpin. It has supported encoding directly from CDs since the beginning and it works really well. Lately, though, I get a lot of discs without tags because it can't find the information on the internet.

Hope this helps,

Also, I use BackUp all the time on my local drives and it works flawlessly. For the first time, however, I tried to backup a folder of jpegs on a local drive to a USB drive. Each file copied generated an error and by the time it got to about 450 files, it was moving so slowly that I had to stop the operation. I suspect appending the error log was slowing it down. Is there a way to switch off error detection?

By the way, the files it copied, despite showing errors in Backup, were identical to the source.

Thanks for the great software.

@TJH132

SecondSpin, is that opensource now?
I use that a couple of years ago.

About BackUp: My first question is of course: what was the errors

CreateDir: Could not create a directory
LockDir: Could not lock a directory
ExDir: Could not examine a directory
DelDir: Could not delete a directory
DelFile: Could not delete a file
DelLink: Could not delete a link.
Unprot: Could not unprotect a dir or file
SkipDir: Could not create a dir that was in the skiplist.

@TJH132

That looks like the help printout from the help requester in the error list window. To save the actual error messages you should use the Save button.
