| @All
Thankyou very much for your very kind comments!
I hope one day I will figure out how to read audio-CDs directly without going through the file system. That would make it fairly complete I think. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| Have a look at SecondSpin. It has supported encoding directly from CDs since the beginning and it works really well. Lately, though, I get a lot of discs without tags because it can't find the information on the internet.
Hope this helps,

| Also, I use BackUp all the time on my local drives and it works flawlessly. For the first time, however, I tried to backup a folder of jpegs on a local drive to a USB drive. Each file copied generated an error and by the time it got to about 450 files, it was moving so slowly that I had to stop the operation. I suspect appending the error log was slowing it down. Is there a way to switch off error detection?
By the way, the files it copied, despite showing errors in Backup, were identical to the source.
Thanks for the great software.

SecondSpin, is that opensource now? I use that a couple of years ago.
About BackUp: My first question is of course: what was the errors _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| Here's the error codes from the console window: Error codes for the error list:
Arch: Could not set the archive bit on a source file Meta: Could not update protection, comment or date on a target file or dir. Read: Read error during file copying Write: Write error during file copying Open: Could not open a file for read or write CreateDir: Could not create a directory LockDir: Could not lock a directory ExDir: Could not examine a directory DelDir: Could not delete a directory DelFile: Could not delete a file DelLink: Could not delete a link. Unprot: Could not unprotect a dir or file SkipDir: Could not create a dir that was in the skiplist. Skipped: Skipped dir or file due to protection Dir?File: Probably a link that could not be resolved SoftLink: A softlink points to another softlink. LockLink: Unable to lock a softlink target. ReadLink: Unable to read a softlink. MakeLink: Unable to create a softlink.
Yet the files copied just fine.

That looks like the help printout from the help requester in the error list window. To save the actual error messages you should use the Save button. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.
