News   News : AresOne 2011 Firmware-Update available
posted by phoenixkonsole on 1-Feb-2011 19:14:45 (2519 reads)
Version 0806 does the following things:
1.Improve system stability
2.Improve memory stability
3. Better Boot-logo : )

Get it here: www.aresone.de

BTW... i got report that it works to enable a second core on the single-core Sempron.
On the other hand i got a success-report but was told that it makes the system somewhat unstable. 1:1 : )

Recent AMD Sempron is ussually for yield issues (i.e. failed second CPU core) or product segmentation.

I have AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB for shader processor unlock trick.

Yep it's true. Normaly they deactivate a working core only if the demand for a low spec CPU is higher than planed. But I now for example that some AMD Phenoms (black edition) could be unlocked from 2 to 4 cores without problems.

It is trial and error : )
I am personally impressed by the solo Sempron... runs FullHD very well.
From the AROS point of view (it supports only one core) it is all about MHZ and L2/L3 Cache. The more the better.

The fastest so far i tried is the 3.4GHZ (per Core) Phenom. I don't use/like Intel.
