In what way is't compatible with dropbox?

I gave the it a try on OS4 and while it seems to work fine, I also found that the program exits whenever I copy some text to the clipboard or grab a screenshot.

I suspect that this is not intentional so I might as well mention it.

The AROS version behaves that way too. Maybe it's a unintentional bug or maybe, since the lack of any documentation or user manual, it's the way it should go - and we should behave differently.

For what I could test for now, it's a great piece of software fullfilling a real need (at least on the AROS camp), but it's not so easy to use and understand, and a little documentation would be fine.

Did a try on os4 as well: dl, unpack to ram, run. Runs fine, looks slick. Then press "prefs". And main programm exits (while imho should open still, even with prefs window over it). Then trying to move that prefs window - no luck. Stack on centr of screen :( Press "esc" (in hope to close prefs window, and swith back to main one) - but its just close prefs window and nothing more.

Ok, do second run, runs fine, press on first button (mark and capture image), and main programm exit again , WB blinks one time , i mark some wb are by that rectangle (but it was lack that i understand that it still works, because if main gui are closes, then logical to think that progamm closes as well). So, mark the area, and have in shelll:

snapshoter.exe: Unknown command
snapshoter.exe failed returncode 10

Then i run it manually again, third time, and i can see my marked screenshot in the gui window.

As verdict: while programm are nice, site for it done good , all looks fine, still, that closing of gui all the time and auto-exit are bad. Also will be cool to have ability to drag and move windowses, without stacking them in one position

Anyway, keep it up, interesting to check next versions.

After unpacking it the binary is called snapshoteraos4. When coming back from snapshot it tries to launch snapshoter.exe and when coming back from prefs then it tries to launch snapshoter. So rename it as snapshoter.exe, then duplicate the executable and rename that duplicate as snapshoter. Then the program finds itself in all cases. Of course, the author have to fix all that. Otherwise nice looking and nicely working app.

I guess these are limitations of Hollywood ?

As far as i remember, in latest versions of Hollywood support of "multiple windowses at time" was added (but not sure).

No, not really you can use multiple "displays" (windows) in hollywood 4.7

ESC in hollywood exits the program it does not close a window. The GUI closes as it (as far as I can tell after a quick test) only captures the workbench screen.

I tried to grab a different screen with the timed grab, eg. click second icon, flip screens and wait 10 seconds... Nothing happened, when I returned to workbench the countdown seemed to continue (there's a delay anyway) and it grabs workbench.

Still, it's quite good for and early release.

One thing I'd like to see is the ability to load images from disk for the collage section. It might already allow this but as there's no docs I'm not sure.

For sure. After few more fixes it will be pretty nice one.

Btw, notice also one more problem: if you trying to move main window with the keys right-ctrl+right-amiga (by this combo you can move any window, even if program not support window dragging) : its sometime just "stacks". I.e. move-move fast-fast, then stop on second, something happens, one more second, and again can be moved fast.

Should the name be changed? Snapshotter is "more correct". Otherwise I end up pronouncing it snap show-ter.

I renamed it to snapshoter.exe and now it works as expected (it comes back after copying something to the clipboard)

hello smf, you can put it in a dropbox folder the executables for 2 platforms for example or use the same executable in 2 machines and share snaps or clipboard from one to other, and also using the notes function you can chat between machines

hello paolone, the program minimize the window sometimes or exit and reload another times, the file will have the name snapshoter.exe an thhis don´t will close never if you don´t quit

Hello Severin for timer captures you need put the time first, in preferences select the time or clicking with right mouse over the icon you can select time, if you selects time you can see a countdown while it finish prepare your capture, for example a cascade menu, the screen will blink when arrives to 0 and nou you can capture
