Great to see that this is still in development! Thanks for the hard work that has gone into producing something like this from scratch...

Tried the old version recently. Looks promising!

/me still dreaming of being able to do "everything" on AOS.

Actually ... PDF and docx enables me to use this for work.

It looks like it is for OS4.x only, why not state this in the announcement?

@Minuous

So I can lure people to read this part of the homepage:

Quote:
AROS / MorphOS versions:
Cinnamon Writer is intended for all amiga variants and a long goal of mine is to be able to provide AROS and MorphOS native versions. Cinnamon Writer is easy to port which only needs a few modifications and the freetype library to be ported.
I am looking for coders that can help me port Cinnamon Writer. In effect only around of 300 lines of c++ needs to be ported. These lines primarily contain the code for window / mouse / keyboard control, so it should be a complete breeze for at experienced coder.
Please contact: Projects@Desler.be

@Lionstorm

Could you please send me a crash report? and if possible, the errors that CW reports bugs@desler.be. All problems people have reported with this version have been because of dodgy truetype fonts (or most likely, a bug in how CW handles dodgy truetype fonts) or that they didn't have Fonts:_truetype directory containing at least the deja vu sans truetype font

Also: If you experience problems with saving / loading of DOCX files, please make sure that you use the version of ZIP that was supplied in the package. I know that the version is more than 10 years old, but I cannot get the version on OS4 depot to work (it forgets protection bits completely)

Instead of depending on external commands programs to read/write .zip files (such solutions seem quite hackish to me) why not use a library like f.e. libzip instead (a much better solution IMO)?

I still don't see the relevance for OS3.9 users.

@Minuous
Tell you what. If you know how to setup a modern GCC compiler (or cross compiler) for AOS3.9 and help me with the porting of a few necessary functions for handling mouse, keyboard and window functions correct, Ill try to make a AOS3.9 native version. You probably have to run it from Amithlon or UAE to be able to fully utilize it though.
