Software News   Software News : BOH update15 released
   posted by saimo on 3-Apr-2012 23:12:02 (3716 reads)
BOH update15 released
Terneuzen, Netherlands - April 4, 2012

On the day it turns 3, BOH receives its 15th and final update, which brings even more contents and improvements!

Read more...

More specifically, this update:
* adds 5 missions;
* adds the Dutch translation;
* optimizes even further the rendering engine;
* replaces the transition effect with a cooler one;
* centers the graphics vertically when playing in a screen bigger than the game area;
* allows providing just alphamask files for all the graphics of themes;
* replaces icons with bigger and crisper ones;
* allows to configure the URL for the submissions of records to the online world standings (so that, in future, standings will remain accessible also if the URL changes);
* updates the manuals;
* applies various other minor optimizations/fixes.

The update can be downloaded for free from the DOWNLOADS page of the official website at www.bohthegame.com.
The demos have been updated to reflect the changes.

About BOH

BOH is a unique retro-flavoured puzzle-riddled maze game spiced up with thrilling action.
You move in claustrophobic, mysterious, dangerous battlefields searching for the Evil Masters, who throw countless enemies at you until you discover and face them in the final battle. Although your quests are made slightly less hard by the power-ups scattered all around, carrying out the missions demands lots of concentration and quick reflexes.
With BOH the fun never ends: new missions can be added anytime and you can even create your own! And, as if that was not enough, you can also customize entirely its audio-visual aspect!
BOH has been created with lots of passion and care to offer, with its oldschool style, a fascinatingly different videogaming experience.

@sundown

Heh, make sure you don't miss them, as they make the game much better and richer in every way
Suggestion: if you can't bother downloading and applying all the updates, just download the ISO image.
Enjoy!

I seem to recall words to that effect when the product was first released:

"...and final update"

Ranks right up there with

"the internet is a passing fad"
We'll only ever need 512KB

I hope it ain't so.

@Toaks & g0blin

Thank you so much!

@Slick

Heh, I hear you... but after almost 5 years of development and 15 update, I really call it done. I have other projects to work on (no time to go into that now, sorry)

Same here, I am not sure what version we got with the X1000, but I think I will be downloading all the updates.

Once I got the hang of it, I thought it was a very enjoyable game.

@BillE

You got the physical CD, so it's the very first one.
You don't need to download all the updates: you can directly download the ISO image, which is alredy fully updated

EDIT: ah, yes, once the fundamental concepts are understood, it stops looking so difficult

what the heck you didn't read the white sticker right smack on the front case cover ...

seriously PLEASE go get the latest ISO from BOH's website (to save you updating 15 times!) cause the game is just soo much more enjoyable with all the great updates since the game was released

@ Simone
had some time last night to play Update 15 and its just ultra smooth..love the lighting effects and that metal ball that bounces back a bit when hit

Very true... the game has evolved a lot... now it's a kind of version 2

Ah, one of the underground theme enemies...
I must say that the ball doesn't bounce back: what exactly happens is that all enemies, when hit, stop there for a moment. Maybe you got the impression from of the balls own movement just before being hit and from the graphics of the spikes.
